There are reports saying that not only will Oregon St LHP Luke Heimlich be drafted next week he could go as high as the 2nd round. When Heimlich was 15 yrs old he was convicted of molesting his 6 yr old niece. A few teams have already come out and said they will not be drafting Heimlich.

I dont want a pitcher. Even if Mize inexplicably falls to 4, I dont want him. Sorry.

My wishlist, in order

1. Joey Bart
2. Jarred Kelenic
3. Nick Madrigal
4. Alec Bohm
5. Jonathan India

If they draft Schnell as an underslot to clean up in the mid rounds I will be open to it but not really thrilled. However no less enthused than if they draft Singer, who I have decided I really do not want.

How are you going to have an 18yr old high school OFer over a pitcher? The more pitching the better, imo.

Look at Rodon. He was almost as cant-miss as it gets and he's just buried underneath uncertainty. Even Strasburg, literally the definition of bulletproof pitching selection, has had his ups and downs.

I am not pitching coach, but Rondon has a weird delivery. Almost like, he is an athlete trying to pitch. The reason why I am pro-pitcher is their ability to develop guys.

Outsider the top 10 I'd agree with you. But 1.4 is too important. They need to add a bonafide stud here.

Seems likely Mize goes 1st overall. Giants have Bart #1 on their board and will take him at 2. Philly could go a lot of ways, but if they go Madrigal it seems almost a lock that the Sox will take Singer. If Philly takes Bohm then the Sox are picking between Madrigal and Singer.

If Mize doesn't go first overall that means 99% chance Detroit picked Bart. If Bart's off the board the Giants are going underslot on Winn while Philly is rushing to the podium to grab Mize. This also means Madrigal is available and they wont feel obligated to take Singer.

So it seems likely that the choice will be between Madrigal and Singer, with there being a distinct possiblity, but not likelihood, that Madrigal is gone. The odds of Singer in the latter scenario seem to be almost 100%. Hence, I am really hoping Detroit takes Bart as at least the Sox get to make the selection between Madrigal and Singer, not resting their fate in Philly's hands.

If Kelenic is their guy they will take him no matter who else is available. It'd be a real shocker if they drafted him.

The Giants are a wildcard. They always seem to go against the industry and pick their own guy. That’s fine because they do a good job drafting. I would be surprised if they go Bart. He’s getting pushed up the board because of the lack of catchers. I don’t think he’ll hit. I wouldn’t he the least surprised if they go Liberatore, Winn or even a guy like Swaggery.

I want Singer, India, or Kelenic on an underslot deal. I’m out on Bart, Madrigal and Bohm. His makeup questions scare me.

Sox could really use a defensive catcher somewhere so Bart would be a no-brainer. But its also a no-brainer he doesnt make to 4. Detroit might still take him and if they dont he's not making it past 2 or 3.

They are going to take Madrigal which I am very happy with. In an ideal perfect world its that underslot Kelenic pick, and hey maybe Kelenic's agent pulls some last minute maneuvering and that happens.

Mayo says the Tigers still may take Singer, which would be such a catastrophic fuck up that the Sox should probably do an actual dance if it happens.

Back of the 1st/supp round. Cleveland and the Dodgers love him.

Definitely not interested in any of the LSU players on the field right now

KLaw came out with his final mock and he has the Tigers taking Bart. I just don’t get it. Our guys had Mike Zunino (3rd pick overall) rated as a better hitter and he has a career .209 BA. So the Tigers are going to pass on a potential ace for a guy who can squat for 130 games. Unbelievable

It would be nice if they allowed trades in the draft.

I am of two minds when it comes to the trades. You really don't want to encourage tanking any more though, so I settle on no trades allowed at least until the tanking fad dies.

Things are getting kinda crazy, Bart to the Tigers could throw everything open. I'm not totally convinced the Giants are going underslot on Winn.

Reds get India. Solid pick. He and Senzel will do damage in the middle of that lineup.
