HS 3B Nolan Gorman (1-19 Cardinals) hit his 15th home run yesterday. He's hit .324/.413/.633 between two levels and is already in low A where he's 3.3 years younger than the avg player. Damn

About as good as Bryce Bush.

Ha. Pretty close. It is amazing what Bush has been able to do. When you send a hitter from the north out you just want him to survive that first year. Bush has been thriving. It's really impressive.

MLBPA Files Grievance for Braves Draft Pick Carter Stewart to Be Declared FA.

Odd timing on this story. Stewart was the 8th pick by Braves but didn't sign because there was a medical issue with a ligament in his wrist. As long as the Braves offered him 40% of the slot value ($1,992,280) they are eligible for a compensation pick this year. Boras (who Stewart hired after the fact) now says the Braves never offered the 40% so Stewart should be declared a free agent.

It seems unlikely but if they win the grievance Stewart will be free to sign with any team and should easily command a signing bonus greater than he would receive in next June's draft. Stewart is currently enrolled at Eastern Florida JC.
