What an interesting pitcher.

Will never forget the one time he came in against the Cubs in the 9th inning with runners on, and immediately induced a game-ending double play to the shortstop.

But this guy was fascinating in many ways. His weird delivery, his name which looked like "Beaver", and also he threw a fuckin palmball.

One of the few palmballers in MLB history.

But the real amazing thing about him is that he wasn't a puss!

He had 7 STRAIGHT YEARS of over 80 innings pitched, and 4 of those he pitched over 98 innings!

And no, not one single start, this was all in relief.

Now we coddle guys and panic the minute they reach 60 innings. Oh my god, he will be worn down in the playoffs, or he's gonna get hurt, etc. Fuck that. Get in there and pitch.

Here are his stats:

Interesting thing is that he had a high career WHIP, but a pretty decent ERA.

Anybody know what he's doing these days? Apparently he is originally from...wait for it.....Kirkwood!
