I would say it was harder to hit in Murray's tme. Parks were bigger. Murray also played in a tougher hitter's park.

No knock on Chipper. He's among the best switch hitters ever. It's the slappy guys like Rose that I don't think belong in the conversation. The power is important.

If power is important than how you gonna gave Ozzie in the top 4? Dude had like 20 career homers in 18 years.

Who the fuck is Ozzie? What are you on about?

He thinks Reggie Smith is Ozzie Smith.

 Is that what it is? I couldn't figure out what the fuck he was talking about. I went back through the thread to check if I had somehow typed Ozzie by mistake. I'm old, that could happen. But no.

I was wondering where that came from.

Pete Rose might want to have some speaks with you.

Singles hitter. Rose is more like Frankie Frisch than he is like the stud switch hitters with power.

Uh in the same thread where you suck Tony Gwynn’s dick for his singles hitting ability, you knock Rose’s ability as a single hitter? Unreal.

To put it in JORR terms, when you look at the two guys (Rose and Smith, only one of them had an elite skill, that was Rose’s hit skill.

I've never said Rose wasn't a Hall of Famer on his numbers. But Gwynn's average was 35 points higher than Rose.

Anyway, when we're talking about switch hitters there have been all kinds of guys that were fast and slapped the ball from both sides. There had never been a guy like Mantle with that kind of power from both sides. Murray is his successor. Smith and Jones would be the next guys in the discussion. Smith slugged 80 points higher than Rose and got on base almost as much.
