According to conventional baseball wisdom in the majors leagues left field is supposed to be the place you put your worst outfielder. Why is that? Aren't there more right handed hitters and therefore more plays to be made in LF than in RF?

Ball coming off a right-hander's bat to left-field flies more straight/true; ball coming off a right-hander's bat to right-field often have challenging spin/angles to negotiate.

Players rarely try to go first to third on a single to LF.

I get that because of the throw from RF to 3rd base...where as LF throws are a little easier.

Fastest in Center, Strongest Arm in Right b/c of throw to 3rd., and "Left Out" in Left field.

A starting pitcher's W/L record does matter. For a great illustration you need look no further than the 2019 Orioles. This team is atrocious. They're 24-61 and may end up with the worst record in baseball history. And yet Andrew Cashner is 8-3 and John Means is 7-4. That's 15 of their 24 wins. It's almost like they're a different team when those guys start a game. You know why? Because they are. That's how important a starting pitcher is.

I've always hated the drop third strike, who gives a shit if the catcher drops it..you swung and make ssed. Should be out automatically .
