If they're going to add playoff games, they may as well make opening day even earlier. All northern teams go on the road for the first two weeks.

Opening Day is 11 days before the NCAA Championship game. That's kinda crazy.

I dont like the idea of more off-days because I think the schedule is a huge part of what makes the season so important but if it means a few less elbow injuries every year I guess its acceptable.

If it gets delayed to August 1, just do eight five game series in the division (home and home) with every Monday and Tuesday off. Have the 9th week be the three 2nd place teams in each league playing at a neutral site, double elimination over five days. Then take four teams from each league into the LDS.

Picking up the schedule wherever it starts would probably make the most sense. If it's unbalanced, then it's unbalanced. I don't think anybody is going to Care given the circumstances.

Got a feeling this season will be a joke. Read something about them playing until Thanksgiving. There is no way the weather will hold for the season to run that late. I'm going to have a hard time acknowledging a champion this year, if the season is super short.

They are talking about 29 man rosters for at least the first month and some doubleheaders. If they go to some five game divisional series (Thu-Sun with a Saturday DH) to reduce travel and cut interleague play they can probably fit in 64 games in the division (2 5 game series and 2 3 game series per opponent) and the traditional 60 games against the other divisions.
