Mostly that he farms because he wanted land to hunt on and is managed for hunting.

On a side note, our organic fields tend to support more upland birds than the conventional fields so maybe he’s seen same it maybe it’s his wife or maybe he got in to some sort of “clean” eating thing and is trying to become the amaranth and quinoa farmer of central Illinois, didn’t get that far into the thought process on the floor of the lacrosse event center.

Timing wise, they needed to take a high school pick because if he pans out you don't want to waste 2022 and 2023 rebuilding years on his service time. Aim for 2024. Great pick.

Hey, i was the worst when it came to Corey Patterson. I didn't realize what an ignorant ass he was. He was going to keep swinging at shoulder high fastball because dammit that's what he did in high school and the low minors and fuckyall if you thought he would consider changing.

This kid could end up being the second incarnation of Scot Thompson, or Josh Vitters, or the guy Brickhouse told us kids would certainly be a star, Matt Alexander.

If he can hit a solid 7th against both lefties and righties and play plus SS for six years, itll be an above average #1 pick for the Cubs.
