I dont understand why they have these new rules. What do they have to do with Covid?

-DH in NL (I actually dont mind this as I love the DH)
-each extra inning starts with a man on second? WTF?
-With no minor leagues, where are teams gonna get replacement players?
-why are so many guys wearing masks in the dugout. Is it required? I mean, fuck, dont they get tested before every game? Why is a solitary cameraman down the 3rd base line wearing a mask on a hot day? Sure, have one handy, but why have it draped over your face with no one around?

They are trying to prevent pitchers from being overworked or injured (as they might be in short supply with COVID), so having DH eliminates one source of injury. Putting a runner on 2nd in extra innings saves pitching staffs from marathon games (in theory, as teams should usually score in that scenario).
