Unbelievable the Cubs could have had him for Bryant a year ago.

Jesus, the Rockies are reportedly sending $50M to get rid of Arenado, and the Cardinals let him add another opt out after 2022, but also let him keep his no trade clause.

Depending on when that $50M is sent, the Cardinals may not have to actually pay Arenado anything.

dont know why they can't do 162 but if i'm the players I take this.

added - well i know why they don't want to do 162 - they want to expand the playoffs like last year.

DOA. Players don't trust Manfred to then figure out a way to cut the season more and thus prorate pay. Plus they believe that more playoff teams means a lower win threshold and thus an overall long term drag on player salaries as more teams just try to get to 84 wins and catch lightning in a bottle once in the playoffs.

Kolton Wong to the Brewers on a 3 year 27 million deal, the 3rd year is a team option.

that seems like an odd deal for the Brewers at this point.

Keston will be moving to 1st base.

Hiura might not even able to play that passably defensively.

I was hoping the Cubs would consider giving an NRI to Wong's brother Kean who was in the Rays organization at AAA in 2019 but blocked by Cronenworth and Brousseau and then was in Giants' camp last year.

Hopefully Turner comes to the Brewers now.

Dodgers have a chance to be good. They will likely compete for the division title.

Buehler
Bauer
Urias
Kershaw
May

That is a solid rotation

Dodgers have good team chemistry.

Not sure about adding Bauer - he’s a me guy and not a team guy.

Hey
@tatis_jr
listen up:

1) Keep swinging 3-0 if you want to, no matter what the game situation is
2) Keep hitting homers, no matter what the situation is
3) Keep bringing energy and flash to baseball and making it fun
4) The only thing you did wrong was apologize. Stop that.

Bauer's salary for 2021 will be $40 Million, that is currently more than the current Payrolls of the Indians, Pirates and Orioles.

Players need to go the salary cap and floor route. They already have a defacto cap with the luxury tax.

Pollock is owed 2/31 plus either 5 to buy out or 10 to keep for 2023. He seems like a prime candidate to trade given that both Bellinger and Betts can play CF.

Jed should be on the phone with the Mariners trying to work out a three way deal to move Bryant to LA:
- Cubs send Bryant and a PTBNL, get Pollock and $$ and a prospect
- Mariners send $5M in Pollock's 2021 salary and a marginal A baller, get a good Dodger prospect worth the $5M and a Cub PTBNL
- Dodgers send Pollock, his $5M 2023 buyout, and two prospects, get Bryant.
