Okay, Bob. He was an All-Star several times, won ROY and MVP in different seasons and was in the top ten in MVP voting a couple other times. He's a career .300 hitter or very close and he won multiple Gold Gloves. What the hell are you talking about?

Here's a story about Pedroia that Pat Murphy who coached him in college told a mutual friend of ours. Murph said that Pedroia was the kind of guy who played better angry. So ASU was playing a game- I think it was against LSU, but that's not important- and Murph walked over to Pedroia and said something like, "Did you hear what that shortstop was saying about you? They're over there laughing at you. He told the second baseman he thought you were a batboy. He called you a fucking midget." So Pedroia comes up to bat and lashes a double and slides hard into second as the shortstop was taking the throw. He pops up and starts screaming at the top his lungs in the shortstop's face, "MIDGET, HUH? HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS MIDGET NOW, MOTHERFUCKER???" And the shortstop is looking at Pedroia as if he's lost his mind. He never called him a midget. He never said a word about him. Murph just made that shit up.

outside of boston he really wasn't a star for the #'s he put up. he was not very memorable either.

He was a vacuum cleaner at second and I liked his hop that was timed to land just as the pitch was being delivered.

Pretty good career.

I don't think he's a Hall of Famer, but I would argue he was the best second baseman in the game over the time he played. The only other case would be Cano. Cano probably is a Hall of Famer, but a better comp for Pedroia is Jeter. His contributions to his teams go far beyond the numbers on the stat sheet. I doubt the Red Sox win either of those championships without him.

MLB The Show in 09. Baez was last year’s cover, so it’s not that great an honor. They just announced this week Tatis Jr will be this year’s cover.

I don't think he is a HOF'er, but he was definitely not a bum, and is FAR SUPERIOR than "Meh"
