I mean that's utterly ridiculous.

Hendricks has been very unlucky. And you know sabremetricians. They take luck, either way, personally.

Further disproving the notion that a 20K game is better than a perfect game.

Ridiculous. Hendriks has had a nice season overall, but Cy Young? GTFO

I think it just shows there was no one really worthy of the CY in the AL.

I'm shocked they didn't make Ohtani a finalist.

Robbie Ray will win it. He was solid for a non-playoff team.

I'm with Dan McNeil's long standing take on MVP....you couldn't have been that valuable if your team didn't make the playoffs.

Cash runaway winner for AL Manager of the Year.

Larussa was 6th, which is way too low for the job he did with all the injuries.

Rays are a system team whose coach is supposed to follow the book created by the front office. Writers complain about automaton managers and then vote for following the book.

I can sort of understand TLR not winning. But given the Sox issues and injuries, how in the world can you say there were 5 guys in the AL who did a better job than he did? They won the division by 13 fucking games!

3 AL East managers were in the top 5.

Also AJ Hinch finished 7th.

The only way that can be explained is because of preconceived notions and the DUI. That's it. In a vacuum, TLR was no worse than the second best manager in all of MLB in 2021.

I think 6th is about right. Seriously.

MLB Network is cruel. Usually they have an older player from the franchise of the winner of the award announce the award.

So they had Jack McDowell today and I thought for sure it's Lynn. But it wasn't.

I'm more of a "most valuable player in the league" vs "most valuable player for his team" type of guy, but it is strange that not one of the six finalists made the playoffs.

A .260 hitter with 100 RBI was chosen the unanimous MVP.

I'm not saying Mark Buehrle should be in the Hall of Fame, but he does have some interesting stats.

Probably the Sox's best draft pick ever, considering where he was taken.

He didn't quite phrase that right. Buehrle had two no-hitters, one of which was a perfect game, and then another outing where he gave up two singles that were both erased by double plays.

Well, Reinsdorf is never gonna die, so he'll get Buehrle in in 30 years.
