No playoffs for the Giants this year. They hit the lottery with their bullpen last year. That won't repeat itself.

why would the Giants have given Rodon 22 million AND a player opt out after 1 year?

That isn't a low offer where you should need to incentivize. Even if he won a Cy Young, he wouldn't get one of those top end contracts for workhorses like Scherzer

Tatis is out for at least three months with a broken wrist, suffered at some point during the lockout...during which time he wasn't allowed to let him team know. Ridiculous.

Did he go see a doctor?

Tatis is edging into medically fragile territory, if he isn't already there yet.

Reports are kind of vague as to when it happened, and they say surgery is an option...so maybe it was recent. Or maybe he's like Shaq, who famously put off surgery until the season started so it wouldn't ruin his vacation.

I heard on the radio today that he probably originally hurt it in January, and reaggravated it swinging the other day.

I don't see how he stays at SS too much longer. He needs to do the Robin Yount/Ray Durham move to CF, and they can play Cronenworth at SS and use Kim for late inning defense.

Tatis is going to make a revised version of this list.

even if he makes it back this year, a wrist injury should mean his power will be sapped until next year

Are we sure Ken Griffey Jr didn't have a facelift and try to pass himself off as Tatis?

Motorcycle wreck, not his first wreck either.

I read today that Griffey will get more in deferred money from the Reds in 2022 than all but 5 guys on their current 40-man roster.

They are rightfully freaked out about pitcher injuries, especially now that they added the limits on shuttling individual players between the majors and minors.

I don't mind the ghost runner, just wish it would kick in starting in the 12th instead of the 10th.

I would find games ending in a tie after 9 to be a more satisfying resolution than the man on second base rule.

I would as well, but then I'd also find contraction back to 20 teams satisfying. Both are equally likely to occur.

Guy on 2nd base is likely the dumbest rule in sports.

Olson signs a 8/168 deal with the Braves to avoid arbitration. Contract runs until he is 35.

Rizzo is fucked, he will be lucky to get 2/35 at this point.

Well, think of something better. Can't have baseball every day for 9 months and games going 13+ innings.

It's just one game out of too many games where now 2 teams from each division get to play even more games.

I think they should just handle extras however they handled them for the first 140yrs of the league’s existence.

Sure, when they were throwing 80, games were 2 hrs, guys swung the bat, and there were 2 teams in the playoffs.

And people watched.

Rizzo got two years for 32 million. What did he turn down from the Cubs last spring?

Bryant to the Rockies, 7/182 full NTC

Delusional decision by the Rockies.

He’ll have the typical overinflated Rockie player numbers there which will make the contract seem like good money . Glad it’s not the Cubs paying that for 7 years .
