I didn't realize the Automatic Strike Zone that will likely be implemented in 2023 will be a challenge system. Teams will get a number of challenges per game and won't be charged if their challenge is upheld. Theo was quoted as saying it's the "best of both worlds" in keeping the human element. I disagree...I want the system making 100% of the calls. I don't want the players or managers to have to think about strategy over a ball/strike call.

MLB should be promoting the hell out of that kid like yesterday.

He is incredible and so fun to watch play.

Between kids like him and Otani, baseball is blowing it as usual.

Not sure what more baseball can do. To really break out he needs a national ad campaign. They should give him a State Farm spot...a guy that doesn't speak English couldn't do any worse...

I watched him pitch in Miami and they had around 22,000...the night before was like 10,000. People come to watch him play but without a national ad campaign its tough for any athlete to break out of the sport. Nobody knows who Judge is and he plays on the biggest stage in the history of mankind according to Yankees fans.

Love seeing Jansen walk in the winning run.

Christian Yelich has lost a lot of weight from 2019 to 2022. His ops+ '18-'19 to '20-'22 went from 171 to 108. The weight fluctuation seems to have given him a mechanically defective swing.

I can't remember seeing a guy that can generate that kind of power while keeping his hands in like that...

There are only four teams in MLB history whose pitchers held the opposition to an OBP lower than .280:

2019 Los Angeles Dodgers (.279)
2020 Los Angeles Dodgers (.273)
2021 Los Angeles Dodgers (.279)
2022 Los Angeles Dodgers (.270)

Dodgers run over the last several years has been great.

2016 lost NLCS
2017 won pennant, lost WS
2018 won pennant, lost WS
2019 lost NLDS
2020 won WS
2021 Lost NLCS
2022 ?

That is 9 playoff series won over the last 7 years. To find 9 series wins in Chicago baseball history, both teams combined, you have to go back to 2003.

I do not understand my guy O'Neil Cruz, when he plays the Brewers he crushes us. He lined out tonight at 114 and then just grounded out at 113. Yet he is now hitting like .197.

And now 118 for a 3 run homer.

Error followed by a home run? I've seen this and had a similar reaction like 14 times this season.

Much panic in Yankeedom, is the point. They are literally playing at a Detroit Tiger level since early Julie. They recently won 5 in a row, but then lost 4 of the next 5.

Can you imagine only having to go 29-39 to win 100 and fall woefully short? Also, no real break in schedule
opponent-wise until the Pirates on Sept 20.

Conventional wisdom is a 5+ game lead going into September is a safe lead. I don't know in this case. The've been flat out horrible for almost 3 months.

It's actually worse than that. Yankees are 18-31 since July 8. That's almost 3 months of last place performance. I can't find a larger lead blown in history. 15-1/2 games. It's like if KC got hot on July 8th and won the Central.

I haven't heard and fluff bullshit stories involving Rizzo lately so he must be in one of his usual slumps or IL stints. I am also enjoying Craigtember.

And imagine if Carpenter hadn’t given them an unconscious performance.

If it was Gordon Wittemeyer he'd be moaning how the Flubs should have resigned Rizzo, Baez, and Bryant. Idiot.

The only desirable solution is for the Orioles to pass them for the third wild card spot.

Mets were favored -400 Saturday with Scherzer vs Corbi (5-17). Great time to bet Nationals if u hit.

Fuckin Scherzer left after 5 with an injury tied 1-1.

Fuckin nationals scored 5 in the 9th to win 7-1. Corbin moved to 6-17.

Sunday same thing. Mets favored by -300. Nationals won again 7-1.

If u bet Nats Sat & Sun you woulda hit big.

He was being honorable. He didn't want to hit a cheap one with the MVP race going on.
