TOR +1.5
SEA +0.5
TB - -
BAL -0.5
CLE -1
MIN -1

The White Sox are 2-1/2 back but I don't think they are pertinent at this point with Balt, Sea, and Clev all playing good ball right now.

the sox are as relevant to the conversation as any of those teams

there isn't one I would identify as a clear cut favorite. Baltimore is on the come. Seattle played its best baseball. Cleveland is similar to the Sox in one week good and one bad. The Central gets to play the Central and the East has to play the East, so I wouldn't want to be taking it to the last couple of weeks if I were toronto or tampa

Oh, you're another one of those "bUt ThE mATh" guys?

Go O's. Go Seattle.

Caller Bob is pulling for the Seamen for obvious reasons.

Then they should act like it. Having low scoring barnburners with garbage teams with garbage pitching isn't a good sign. And now Anderson is out and being replaced with a negative WAR. So, for now, they can't be included in a 6 team race for 3 spots.

ok....go ahead and list the White Sox in the discussion. They're not making the playoffs, but by the numbers they're "in the race. I'd say by Labor Day, we'll be able to drop them the discussion.

for the wild card, because they will be in first place in the division

TOR 61-52 +1

SEA 62-54 +0.5

TB 60-53 --

BAL 59-55 -1.5

MIN 58-55 -2

CHW 59-56 -2

If Cleveland keeps playing at a .750 clip, this right here is doable.

I think Baltimore is going to take that third spot over Tampa. They are playing with house money, they've already won more games than they did last year, and they have more hotshot rookies to bring up in September.

Rosters only expand to 27 in Sept now.

Is that still due to Covid, or did the owners decide to go cheap? Quite a reduction from prior years.

It might be 28, not sure. But its definitely down from 40 which seems silly.
