The scheduling this postseason has been a little suspect for me. I get some division games have to be played in the afternoon but championship games are a different story. Game 1 of the NLCS was the 2nd game played on Tuesday. It should not have started at 4:30pm locally. The east coast can wait another hour until 8:30pm to make that game start at 5:30pm on the west coast. It's garbage Game 2 of a championship series had to start at 1:30pm on a weekday in San Diego Wednesday. I know the Yankees-Astros had to play after, but schedule it on a different day and alternate the games. Do something and figure it out. This has been a great post season. I thought baseball was trying to get viewership numbers up. Game 3 starts at 4:30pm today. The east coast can wait 1 more hour. It's a Friday night.

I heard today that the 5 games in a row in the championship series is an artifact of the lockout (most likely to hit the right WS schedule dates that Fox is paying for). That would explain why they aren't alternating weeknight games between the two leagues.

Imagine in San Diego if you were a kid in school or an adult with a normal 9-5, and you're favorite baseball team is playing in the National League Championship Series at 1:30pm on a fucking Wednesday

The NBA would never.

I'm old enough to remember the World Series finally having night games - Baltimore/Pittsburgh 1971. I got to watch Clemente play, as he was my favorite non-Chicago player.

Haven't seen Rizzo in a while. He looks like he's lost 75 lbs. Hmm...

i am surprised how much Philly uses Harper as DH. Is he that bad of a fielder?

Astros up on Yankees 3-0 with Altuve going 1-12 so far in the series. Astros looking like they're going to steamroll to another World Series championship.

Astros could get tripped up by what happened to the 2006 Tigers. Tigers took down the Yankees in the ALDS and then swept Oakland in the ALCS while St Louis and the Mets went 7 games. Tigers had a full week off between their last ALCS game and the first game of the World Series. Detroit's bats never really showed up in the World Series and they got beat by the game-ready Cardinals who had barely a day off between the 7 game NLCS and Gm 1 of the World Series. Might be a bit less of a concern playing Games 1 and 2 in warm weather Houston vs cold AF Detroit. But a full week off after teams have been playing non-stop since March can't be good for hitters' timing.

He had an upper body injury earlier in the season. Missed a bunch of games and he still can't play the field. Supposedly will be ok by the beginning of next season. If the NL didn't have a DH he would have been out for the year.

it was apparent at the start of this season. the reason 'given' was less weight for his back issues. the issue that plagued him with the cubs...as bruce levine always pointed out when rizzo would slump.

Great job by the Phillies manager. No one's been able to get Harper out in October it all comes down to the new manager.

It went over your thick skull. Most of it comes down to player performance, not some douchebag sitting in the dugout.

How about the douchebag in the other dugout? Not a whole lot of common sense there.

Girardi made an absolute tire fire of the bullpen before they fired him. And Fuld made better deadline trades than the Mets did.

And now anyone calling for the NL cutting out the DH will get clobbered in Philadelphia.

Obviously. Has anyone said otherwise? The fact that you felt you were making a clever point is why you have proven yourself to be an idiot.

I do not like the DH, but it has not bothered me as much as I thought it would.

absolutely, it was discussed months ago. who could forget the 8-7 loss to the mets, when the phillies had a 7-1 lead going into the mets' last AB?? nola and wheeler and i'm guessing that the phillies will do well if they take the w.s. to 6 games.

they had 20,000 subdued fans in the stands in early june against the giants. the fans have turned out now.

I'm not sure that Jerry smoked as much pot as Dusty.

Giants, Cubs, Reds, Nationals, Astros all to the playoffs. One of the greatest regular season managers of All-time. Maybe this will finally be the year.

With that being said, he can fuck right off for how he handled the Bartman situation. Not calling time and telling everyone to settle down.

Yankees swept. Even with Dusty managing the Astros, I find it incredibly beautiful. There is zero chance Dusty is making the pitching decisions....zero.

RR gets his way....let's have throwback unis for the world series! I'm good with the powder blue base and large burgundy "P"
