Are Moncada and LouBob un-defecting (re-fecting?)?

Does that get the Sox out of Moncada’s contract?

Cuba allowing MLB players on the roster but not back into Cuba to practice with the team? Maybe they'll join practices over zoom.

I think the only MLB player other than the 2 White Sox is Yoenis Céspedes, if he still counts as an MLB player. Céspedes, who is like 50 years old, played in the DR over the Winter.

Prolly grab Japan at ++ money before the games begin and they become the favorites.

Ohtani finally getting a bigger audience than Bally Sports West coverage area. Criminal that the Angels have had Trout and Ohtani and can't be arsed to make the post-season but once in the last 12 seasons.

The Dominican Republic squad is just ridiculous. Even with the corpses of Cano and Cruz on the bench.

I saw them beat the piss out of Ryan Dempster and team Canada in Miami in 2017. It was good fun.

And yet the dumbasses at the MLB Network are replaying the 2017 WBC since the joke that is ESPN got the rights for both the Caribbean Series and the few college games they actually show.

The Kingdom of the Netherlands beat Cuba last night.

If like me you don't have FS1, SiriusXM89 is broadcasting the audio for all the games. With a 10pm Eastern start time, I didn't stay awake for the entire game, but it sounded like the relatively weak Dutch pitching kept the Cuban major leaguers such as Moncada and Robert mostly in check.

Looks like my Hulu has the FS channels broadcasting this. Just turned off CNBC and put on FS2. I am ready for baseball.

Sounds like Robert and Moncada are in midseason form then. Great.

Last night's Australia v. Korea match up was pretty solid, although I didn't make it to the end of the game. Australia was pitching a perfect game through four and there were two big home run fueled lead changes. Also, the teams seemed really fired up and into the game.

Just waiting on the zone of death games to start in Miami. Watching the Astros Venezuela game yesterday I’d have thought it was in Caracas

Is it true that the Aussie's run around the bases in a clockwise fashion?

Between the choreographed noise of the Taiwanese fans and a crazy play by Jurickson Profar in LF this game is nuts. Unfortunately the Dutch now seem rattled and are falling apart.

Great Britain’s jerseys look like they forgot the real ones, and are wearing the best they could get last minute from 10 minute tees

Great Britain-Canada is a wild ride and it's only the first inning.

Great Britain led off and batted around, knocked starter Cal Quantrill out and scored 3 runs.

Canada answers by sending 11 to the plate in the bottom of the first. Freddie Freeman grounds out into the shift with the bases loaded to end the inning.

5-3 Canada after 1. One of these teams may get to 20.

Now 16-8 Canada after 4. Canada is going to win, but their already iffy pitching staff is going to be fucked for their next game.

I guess it's just another example of MLB doing a crap job of marketing. 9pm central start for the US vs Canada game tonight. Even if it ends up being a great game, how many people from eastern and central time zones are staying up to watch it? Could be 2am on the east coast before the game is done. I love watching baseball, and there is no chance I see the end.

Granted that it's in Arizona, but the idiots in MLB could show some common sense and push the start up at least an hour.

I'd like to think the MLB is smart enough to understand 'daylight savings' time too, but who knows... A 7pm Phoenix start last Friday would have been 8pm here. A 7pm Phoenix start tonight is 9pm here. (Phoenix doesn't change the clocks). Minor thing though, because even a 9pm eastern start seems stupid.
