I get wanting to not stress pitchers. But why can't they play a regular extra innings for 2-3 innings and then put a runner on 2nd? |

I don't see the need to restrict position players pitching. And since when did leading teams do it? I can't recall ever seeing that, since it would be pretty bad optics. |

This is worse than the All Star Game Homefield in the World Series rule, which I thought would never be topped in terms of stupidity. |

They already expanded rosters to 26 just a season or two ago and added off days. Have SP's cover more than 12-15 outs a game, and it suddenly solves a lot of these stress or overuse issues. |
