Somehow MLB teams will not fold after this.

Pitiful, most of those are below the poverty line. They should be doubled.

I've long thought the MLB team should buy up property near each of their stadiums and build dorms, including cafeteria, to maximize these guys potential. Maybe have a classroom with English instruction for foreign players or some basic economics for everyone.

Some teams are doing this already, just down in the Latin American countries. School in the morning and practice and play in the afternoon. I know the Brewers have a couple of academies like this.

If you host a ThunderBolts player you get free tickets, food, and soda at the ballpark. Not a great deal, but maybe you really like ballpark food.

Host family programs were suspended during the coronavirus pandemic over health concerns. Now, they may never return. When minor league players unionized and reached a historic initial collective bargaining agreement with Major League Baseball in March, the league agreed to double salaries and provide guaranteed housing to most players.

The use of host families was officially outlawed.

Thunderbolts are an independent league team. Not a real minor league team.
