This is exactly what’s wrong with analytics causing the pussification of major league baseball players

ya i saw that. big hr by their 21 year old call up. Texas had a terrible month but looks to be turning it around now. that AL West is tight. but out of all the hoopla between the Mariners and Texas, guess who's in first now - Houston!

In the worst kept secret news, David Stearns headed to be President of Baseball Operations for the Mets.

i dont get these pro athletes who beat women. First it's something as a regular human being you don't do.

Add to that you make millions of dollars, are a celebrity probably get comped everywhere you go, throw that all away by abusing others?

morons.

julio should have been born 'julia'. looks like wnba players get a pass from the league when slapping around their better halves. dodgers are cutting the cord with him - will likely be shunned and will be denied a 9 figure contract in his free agent year.

terrible. sad.

Quote:
Max Scherzer is being shut down for the rest of the regular season with a low-grade strain of his teres major muscle, the Rangers announced on Wednesday. General manager Chris Young said that it is unlikely Scherzer will be able to pitch in the postseason, either.

Scherzer exited Tuesday night's game after 5 1/3 innings of scoreless ball with what was at the time diagnosed as a right triceps spasm. In eight starts for Texas since coming over from the Mets at the Trade Deadline, Scherzer was 4-2 with a 3.20 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 45 innings.

The Rangers are in the midst of a tight playoff race, currently sitting a half-game up for the second AL Wild Card spot and a game behind Houston in the AL West race.

for all you players out there, Astros overs are 16-1 on Mondays this year. It's not something I'd rely on with a huge play, but it's worth just making an auto play each week for the rest of the season. It's been a cash machine

17-1

in basketball or football i can bet an under, but psychologically i cannot in baseball.

you can theoretically get an over in the 1st inning, with an under i have to sweat out the entire game to the last out.

also it's really fun to get an over early, then go back and double or triple dip.

I think its 18-2 now.

It's a Monday. The Astros are playing. It's a tough pitching matchup but this has to be an automatic

Kapler fired in SF.

3 games left to go - they couldn’t wait til the season ended?

I'm not sure what Kapler was supposed to do with that roster full of platoon players and guys like Haniger and Conforto who were coming off of injuries. It's not Kaplers fault that they ended up with no shortstop and no Aaron Judge.

I think Kapler goes back to a front office in some kind of AGM job. He was doing front office work before he got the Philly manager job.

Cards let Adam Wainwright bat in his final game before he retires. that's cool.

st. louis, the baseball institution that wrote the unwritten rules of baseball, taking notes on the reds last night. stealing bases up 8-2, slow HR trots, rub it in your face celebrating. will the helpless cards wait till next year to extract justice or hit a few reds tonight?

That contract may be the final straw for Hal Steinbrenner to just totally clean house, take two years below .500, and put things back together again once all the Orioles' kids get too expensive for their cheap owner to keep.
