Wouldn’t it be hilarious if they swept the Cubs?

Fourth new home city for the franchise, one ahead of the Braves.

It’d suck to lose three professional sports teams in a decade.

Jesus! Had not even thought of that.

They still got the Oakland Soul. (Chick's soccer, I think.)

"Oakland Soul is a Purpose-driven women’s soccer team that will be an elite pathway to pro soccer, providing not only a high-quality training environment but also protecting and empowering players so they are nourished both physically and mentally."

I mean I know it sucks to have your team leave like that but the whole "fan boycott" thing they were doing during the negotiation and after really seemed to backfire. Now they lose them 2 years earlier but at least they sent a message that they didn't want them to leave.

If vaginers dies and the bears move to Alabama, what do you guys do? Do you still follow them? There would be literally zero connections back to Chicago, aside from some of the low level staff, but even not many of them. There would be no reason to follow them at all, unless you just like the team logo.

They are moving an hour and a half away to a minor league stadium that seats 10K, I know it's the A's but why not just split Oracle Park with the Giants? How is baseball even allowing this?

the A's will see a boost of attendance in Sacramento, they may even sell out a few games to start.

Unlikely, yes, very unlikely but what if the odd chance the 2025 A's make the playoffs, are you really going to let a team host a playoff game with a 10K seat cap?

MLB will move it, just like they were going to move Cubs World Series home games to Comiskey Park in 1984 because shithole Wrigley had no lights.

I think they were going to move it to a 4 game AL 3 Game NL series even though it should have been 4 NL and 3 AL. They were playing day WS games during most of the decade of the 1980s, they just didn't want the potential of four of them being day games.
