I've listened to Bob Kendrick interviews in the past. He's a wonderful kind person.

What a class response by Mr. Kendrick. It is always nice to see someone rise up and publicly offer a hand of forgiveness. That won't stop the mob, though.

But he shouldn't need to be forgiven. He didn't use a slur. Unless you really believe he called it the N*gger League Museum. I find that preposterous. More likely he just pronounced "Negro" in a way that could be seized upon. But I have been told "negro" is a slur. So who knows?

I don't believe he did it on purpose either, but certainly he should apologize for it. People do and say stupid shit all the time that is unintentional that is still worthy of an apology.

But don't you think that's kind of silly? If he was talking about a woman named Sally Kant and happened to say her name so it sounded like Sally C*nt, do you think he should have to apologize to keep his job, to not be considered a sick misogynist? Apologizing makes it seem like you said something wrong rather than just tripping over your tongue or using an odd pronunciation.

Victor Davis Hanson says "nucular" all the time and he's as educated as a person can be. All kinds of people use odd pronunciations. I'm sorry that we've turned one single word into such a taboo that a guy who says "Negruh League Museum" on TV is considered a Grand Wizard.

If you make a mistake, whether it is intentional or not, it's okay to apologize. We all fuck up. In general, it won't hurt anyone to acknowledge an error. It says a lot about how fragile someone's ego is when they can't do it.

I’m not saying anyone should be fired. I’m saying courtesy dictates that if you slip up and say something like that even accidentally, you say “I’m sorry” and the other party typically offers forgiveness. I complimented the gentleman from the museum for offering that.

Even if someone doesn't accept, it cost you nothing to say you made a mistake. I'm not sure what world folks are living in where they don't think anyone should apologize if they did something accidentally.
