Hitting doesn't cause further damage and I think its something like 6 weeks after TJS they can start swinging a bat again.

I guess its about 150 days they can start taking dry swings then 180 days they can hit off a tee.

The question is whether his future team will acquire him with any expectation that he'll pitch? 2024 will essentially be the third year (2019 and almost all of 2020) he will not be available for pitching. I suspect the answer will depend on what they end up paying him. If he's getting $50 million a year, I think you have to try pitching him one last time.
