It's usually not an issue for Chicago. The Sox or Cubs are the Fox game most of the time. They always have 3 regional games. One of our teams usually get it. Once or twice during the season the Sox or Cubs aren't on FOX saturday. Tomorrow is one of those days.

Hmmm...I got the Tigers-Angels game. One small little bonus I get with Directv- I pay for the local channels through them and also have the HD package and for some reason I get the HD feed of FOX on ch. 88. But it's the New York feed, so often times I'll get a different game than whats on FOX chicago. Like Sat. Fox chicago had the Tigers-Angels and the NY FOX had the Braves-DBacks. I know, I'm a dork.

Also, let me say that the FOX broadcast teams, while not great to begin with, have gotten even worse. There's no rhyme or reason to who they put together. Dick Stockton & Mark Grace? Kenny Albert & Erik Karros? Matt Vaskergan & Tim McCarver? Ouch. I used to like Thom Brennaman too, but he seems to be annoying me too lately.

Fox doesn't have the Giants vs Padres this Saturday either. It's a 9pm game for us.

I've noticed that Joe Buck hasn't been doing alot of these games this year. McCarver has been paired with other guys. What the hell else does Buck have to do? Isn't this his job. Why doesn't he do his one game a week?

McCarver demanded to be paired up with Matt Vaskergan instead

Buck must have cut back on his Saturday baseball. Don't worry though, you will get to hear Buck every night in October.

Doesn't he still do the Cardinals local broadcasts?

Oh I know Buck will be there for the post season.

I remember Buck saying he quit his full time Cardinals job a couple years ago. He said he does like 5 or 6 local Cardinal games a year now.

I guess Buck cut back on his FOX regular season gig. He used to do the game every week up until this year. He's paid well enough for his football job and his baseball post season I guess. But my God, it's just once a week during the summer. I guess when you make what he makes you don't have to work even that little. Good for him I guess.

Bonds tied Aaron. First at bat in the 2nd. He'll have 3 more to break it. ESPN 2.

What a year for milestones.

Bonds ties and passes Aaron.
Sosa hits 600
A-Rod hits 500
Frank hits 500
Griffey might get to 600
Thome might get to 500
Man Ram might get to 500
Biggio 3000 hits
Clemens 350 wins
Glavine 300 wins

Trevor Hoffman got 500 saves this year too.

I was thinking. The Padres gave up the reccord breaking hit to Pete Rose in 1985. Eric Show - At present he is dead. Coke I think.

If Bonds hits it today or tomorrow the Padres will have surrendered the reccord breaking all time hit and the reccord breaking all time home run.

They'll walk him the rest of the night.

He's leading off next inning. Won't be intentional if he's leading off. They might not throw it over the plate however. I'm thinking Bonds won't take a home run cut. He'll want to do it at SF.

He got one pitch to hit in his 2nd at bat before he walked. Like Orel said, it was a home run cut. So I guess he doesn't mind doing it here.

The reaction was mixed. Maybe 60 percent booed that homer. It's SD however. If it was an east coast city or in the midwest it would have been brutal.

Most of the reports I heard on Sunday were that the majority were cheering.

They all just want to be able to say that they were there when it happened. Then their ticket stubs rise in value from $0 to about $1.

What happens if a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?

What if one of the great records in sports history is tied/broken and most of America ignores it?

Well. Here we go again. Day 8 of ESPN 2 covering the Bonds reccord chase. Erin Andrews has been there the whole time. So that's been a bonus.

He starts 6 straight games at home tonight. Then he goes to Pittsburg (his old team) and Atlanta (home of Aaron).

I want to see him break it in Atlanta. He'll get a bad reaction there. Or maybe just get it over with tonight.

Erin Andrews is the only reason I'm somewhat watching this game. I can't stand when they go to her, and it's just her voice. Nobdoy really cares what she is saying so ESPN needs to fix that.

1) The apparatus is hinged at the elbow. It is a literal "hitting machine" that allows Bonds to release his front arm on the same plane during every swing. It largely accounts for the seemingly magical consistency of every Bonds stroke.

WHAT!
That would be an advantage if every pitch came in on the same plane.
Each pitch is unique, therefore the swing required to make contact with the said pitch has to be unique as well.

This is not golf, where the ball position on impact can be replicated for each swing.

At least he showed some emotion. I'm glad I was watching.

Since I am old enough to recall, when Aaron hit his homer to break Ruths record, the dodgers on the field shook his hand as he rounded the bases, I noticed the Nats players seemed to walk away.

What a lousy speech by Bonds. He had nothing prepared. Could have said some nice things about Aaron or something profound. Or even an apology. But no.

I hate the fact that somebody got to Hank Aaron and convinced him to give that speech to be played at the Giants stadium. That sucked but showed what a class guy Aaron is.

I'm glad a fan got the ball. Good for him. That will go for a million. Maybe that guy was from NY. He had a Mets shirt on.
