Here is some useless information on each of the Playoff teams:
Arizona Diamondbacks- Began Major League play in 1998. Won a World Series in 2001. Used to wear ugly uniforms that had the colors black, purple, turquois and copper. Now have cooler uniforms, with heavy metal inspired lettering and black, red and gold colors.
Philadelphia Phillies- MLB's all-time losingest team, with over 10,000 losses. Won one world series in their 124 year history, against the Kansas City Royals in 1980. Phillies' slugger, and baseball single season strikeout leader Ryan Howard inspired the name of the character Ryan Howard from the NBC comedy "The Office." Phillies' 3B Wes Helms is the cousin of Ed Helms, who plays Andy Bernard on that same show.
Colorado Rockies-Making their second Wild Card appearance/playoff appearance since their creation in 1993 (the last was 1995). Their home, sleevless home, and black road uniforms are a rip-off of the Chicago White Sox, IMO.
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim- Was found by a real life cowboy, not like the pretend one who owned the Texas Rangers in the early 1990's
. Won one WS since their establisment in 1961 (2002). Used to play home games in Wrigley Field. Not the one in Chicago. In an unprecidented move, owner Arte Moreno lowered beer prices when he bought the team.
Cleveland Indians- An original AL team. Haven't won a WS since 1948. Inspired the movies Major League and Major League 2. Drew Carey is their most famous fan. Even Ohioan LeBron James wants nothing to do with them. Despite what most people think, they have a pretty cool logo

The Cubs, Yankees, and Red Sox- nothing more needs to be said about these teams. If you don't know anything about them, I'm sure there is a My Little Pony message board out there somewhere.
