Jim Edmonds has requested a chance to return to the Cardinals. At the Cardinals Convention, he asked Manager Tony LaRussa, for the opportunity. LaRussa said that if he's serious (and he is) that he would sit down with him and discuss the possibility. He might have a shot at a spot as a 4th outfielder with the redbirds. After coming over from the Padres in 2008, Edmonds did a very nice job for the Cubs and I was surprised nobody gave him a chance to compete for a spot last season. But he never announced his retirement, so this announcement was not a shock. I would have rather have had him last season than Bradley....Although Abreau or Ibanez would have been better still.

I think we all assumed that. Im sure you would have even preferred Doug Dascenzo over Milty.

I guess this means he's ready for the needle, the cream and the clear. (Again?)

Is this is kind of like how Tony LaRussa was considering coming to the Cubs since his contract was up?
