Story in this weeks SI on the LOOGY's featuring 2 of the more esteemed members of this club, Arthur Rhodes and Darren Oliver. Both been in the majors forever ( 20 and 18 seasons respectively). Got me thinking how much a player can earn by being just good enough at doing one thing. Rhodes has earned 34 million in his 20 years, Oliver 39 (!!) million in his 18. I realize Oliver came up as a starter and didnt become a specialist until a few years back and Rhodes was an effective relief pitcher in general for a good part of his career until becoming a strictly lefty lefty dude but wow, thats a lot of meal money for being not exactly standout players by any means. Sucks to be me, good to be their agents. Happy Monday to all.

I heard this a long time ago on MJH because Harry is/was a big Kelly Wunsch fan, but iirc Wunsch is one of the only pitchers in recorded professional history to record 5 strikeouts in 1 inning. He did this in A or AA as he was coming up.

Wunsch was one of the ugliest motherfuckers in baseball. He looked like a fuckin' catfish. His wife was hot though.
