I've said this before on here. Baseball is missing the black athlete. When I was growing up,baseball was better for it in the late 60's,70's,etc.

More MLB teams should be sponsoring inner-city Little Leagues. I think the White Sox do this.

Folks initially reluctant to jump on Junior Griffey and make him a face of the sport is similar to now and Bryce Harper and his "make baseball fun again."

Griffey is known as one of the best ambassadors of the game. His hat backwards must not have been too disrespectful.

Seems to me MLB is doing a piss poor job of drafting and developing black high school kids. Instead they draft boatloads of shitty college players as roster fodder.

[Black] high school kids who are great athletes have a higher expected value playing football or basketball. Instead of toiling in the minor leagues at minimal salaries, they can play NCAA Division I and get both an education (if they want it) and money under the table to boot.
