the Sharks novel gamble/gambit to negate the Blues PP was way more effective than the Sharks probably even figured it would be. still, Blues managed to find a way to beat both the Blackhawks and the Stars. Elliott in goal is the main reason why. It's been said every round, but if/when the Blues generate any sort of offense, having Elliott in goal means they are likely going to win. was funny watching them try to decipher the Sharks defense of their PP last night tho. |

2-0 Sharks, start of the 3rd period Blues have now gone 6 periods without scoring. Sharks have shut down their offense. This is what I thought the Hawks or Stars would do to the Blues anemic offensive game. more so the Blackhawks than the Stars. Stars style of gambling on rushes to score play gives up a lot of odd-man rushes going the other way |

Hitchcock really has to be kicking himself for keeping Ott an Reaves in the dressing room tonight where all they can do some lines and ride the bike. This is prime Blues shithead time and only Backes is suited up tonight. |

could be why the Sharks have outhit the Blues 39-17 in this game--first game they've out hit the Blues. Blues doubled up the Sharks on hits in Game 1, 28-14, Backes delivering 11 of those 28 hits. Close to even, 32-27 in Game 2, Backes with 8. Ott has only played limited minutes. Reaves has been a scratch every game. |

Ott was a scratch in the first two Hawk games as well. I'm sure we'll see his worthless, sorry ass at some point, but the Shark can deliver the goods just as well - or better. Look at what they did to Dallas toward the end of that series - they were smacking them all over the ice, AND controlling the puck. Hitch pulling Allen - heh heheh heheheehehehhhhhh... |

jeez, Blues player skates into the zone with the puck, goes to either pass or shoot, whiffs on it, Sharks take the puck the other way. last few attempts by the Blues to run their offense: Pietrangelo gets the puck off of a Blues offense zone face-off win, casually skates back toward the blue line to try to set up their offense, some Shark player easily rode him out of the zone, Blues all have to retreat and action goes the other way. Backes gets a turnover, stops at the Blue blue line on the way out of their zone, 2 Sharks immediately start to converge, Backes tries to pass btw them and coughs up the puck. Not giving the Blues puck-handler any room has them stymied. PP Blues with 4 minutes to go, still 3-0 Sharks. Blues just tried to pass and it went out of their zone, on the PP. And the Blues pulled their goalie with 4 minutes to go, on that last PP. Still couldn't generate any offense. or shots even, spent most of it outside the Sharks zone, trying to figure out how to get the puck back in the Sharks zone for more than 3 seconds. |

I dunno, with these guys it looks like the tv is on 0.7x speed or something compared to the speed of the Lightning-Penguins. Sharks obviously playing well, but they've essentially played the same style of team all 3 rounds? Haven't really faced a faster skating, more skilled team. |

I don't have any specific Sharks love and am with you on the fellating (sp?) of Thornton. However, I would love nothing more than to see Hitchcock choking on a Hooters wing, have his face turn purple, and then die when no one is willing to give him CPR. |

Bolts up 2-0 after 1st period. Blues may have been outplayed 7 of 9 periods so far in the series; they are still in a position to take the series back to St Louis tied--should they figure out a way to get the puck into the Sharks zone and keep it there longer than 10 seconds and maybe direct it toward the net. |
