ugh. That's not a hawks fan.

Mac is a bandwagon fan. When the Blackhawks fall on hard times he will suddenly become a Red Wings or Blues fan, just like he became a Packer fan.

Nothing says old time hawkey like San Jose vs Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup FInals, unless the Penguins win tomorrow night.

Bettman and the NHL is rooting hard for the Penguins. A stanley cup matchup between SJ & TB would be tragic.

I think but am not certain that a SJ-TB final would be between teams that entered the NHL in 1992.

The Sharks first NHL season was 1991. Tampa Bay & the Ottawa Senators joined the league in 1992.

Thanks.

I got no problem with a SJ-TB final.

Ben Bishop and Stamkos may have played their last games for Tampa Bay. Even if Tampa wins tomorrow night.
Bishop likely on the trade bloc this off-season, or by next trade deadline at the latest. he only has a year left on his current deal.

Stamkos is a free agent this off-season.

Not exactly a marquis matchup and the interest and ratings would be low.

I have a slight preference for the Bolts and their wunderkind non-traditional path to an NHL head coaching job coach over another Finals appearance and likely Cup win for Crosby and the Penguins. I don't think it's gonna happen. Cooper's pulled so many rabbits out of the hat these Stanley Cup playoffs that I think the better team--at least the team that's been playing better and is healthier right now--is going to prevail tomorrow night.

Cooper could be the biggest free agent coming out of Tampa Bay in a couple seasons; whatever team lures him away from the Lightning. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf ... ching.html

also, stuff like this on Crosby makes ya wanna Image

"It was a special goal scored by a special player at a special time." regarding Crosby's goal at the end of the 2nd period in game 6.

Quote:
The Penguins have lost three straight Game 7s, including the two they've played at Consol Energy Center, which opened in 2011. Crosby has played in two of them and failed to score a point in each game. Pittsburgh is 2-7 all-time in Game 7s at home.

Technically, the Sharks were established as the Oakland Seals in 1967. They moved to Cleveland in 1976, and in 1978 merged with the Minnesota North Stars to become the, well, Minnesota North Stars under Gund family ownership. The Gunds attempted to move the North Stars back to the Bay Area but instead were allowed to de-merge their original franchise and take half of the Stars' roster to start the San Jose Sharks. The 1991 expansion draft was therefore the Sharks picking players from around the league and the North Stars doing the same to replenish their roster from what the Sharks took away.

The Sharks and NHL are iffy on whether the Sharks can officially be considered the continuation of the Seals, mostly because relative to the rest of the Expansion Six (Kings, Stars, Penguins, Flyers, Blues), the Seals were a miserable failure that would best be forgotten, but considering the Gund ownership runs from the Barons to the North Stars to the Sharks, it's pretty clear to me that that's the case. It's kind of the opposite of how we pretend the Cleveland Browns have been around since 1948 and aren't some dimestore expansion team run out of the back of a van.

But seriously, none of this matters.

NBC can't have a TB/SJS final.

They need the polarizing Crosby. Hate watchers aplenty to boost ratings.

Gotta wonder what would've been for the Blues if they take care of business Game 5 in 2OT. Instead Hawks force two extra games. Then you have a Stars team without Seguin take them to Game 7.

That's two exhausting series of running up and down. Then you get a fast heavy team like Sharks.

Blues hate fueled my interest in the Western Finals. I was quite pleased with the outcome. I still love the look on Hitchcock's face when Brouwer took that awful penalty to start of the 2nd.

I don't mind if the Lightning win it.

They won the Hawks series by the slimmest of margins. In that series, the better team usually lost the game. And we hit two posts on a shot twice......

I am not sure fatigue was the difference. Look at how well the Blues played in Game 6 against the Sharks. It is amazing how close each playoff hockey game/series are.

You mean Game 5? Game 6 was done the minute Elliot let in the awful Pavelski goal.

I didn't see what you did. The Shark dictated nearly every game except for Game 4.

I actually meant game 4. The Blues won that one easily. I am all confused with my games because of the abundance of sports that are on.
