Up until Canada's second goal it looked like they would run over the US. They pooped their pants after that. Here's hoping they don't get hot with Luongo in goal. If they start Brodeur again I think they can kiss their ass goodbye.

I was at a local watering hole with a friend and, after the last goal, the "USA! USA! USA!" chants were all over the place like I hadn't heard in years. Brought back the jingoistic memories of 1980s WWF wrestling. Nonetheless, good times :)

I am really, really liking the way Jack Johnson is playing for the USA overall.

It seemed like Duncan Keith kept the puck in our zone for the last 2 minutes of the 3rd...Damn...Hawks were impressive...even Kane with his stupid penalty trying to play defense.

Brown is horrible, one of the worst players on the team. Sorry Cross. He has no business being anywhere but the 4th line. They need to move Ryan up to the line with Kane and Kessel so Kane has someone with a hint of skill to play with.

I do agree that Kessel has sucked.

I would say the 3 worst forwards on the team have been Kessel, Brown and Stastney.

Defensively, they all suck except Suter and Eric Johnson, but none of them suck as much as Orpuck.

christ what a great goal to get this into OT!

this game hasn't been as exciting as the first us/canada game but this could be a great overtime.

Well, the way I look at it we won one matchup and they won the other. Unfortunately, our win came in an early round and theirs came in the Gold medal game.

did anyone notice d. keith and b. seabrook were split apart from the second period on ,and seabrooks ice time from that point on was limited ? injury or a babcock decision?

obviously this was the first game you watched in the Olympics.

Keith and Seabrook were split up 5 minutes into the FIRST GAME. They played a few shifts together here and there, but 95% of the time Keith played with Doughty and Seabrook played with himself on the bench.

Post subject:  Re: Canada/US

Seabrook was the lone hawk participating in the Olympics who didn't belong, and I like Seabrook too, but he was out of his element, someone like Green from the caps would have been a better addition, and another weapon... not that canada needed that

Coming from an unbiased perspective, I must say that the kesler line for the Americans was probably the best line over the last two games. I'm surprised that wilson waited till the third period of the gold medal game to mix up the other lines looking for production... Maybe the us should've had Buff on the team, if for no other reason than to piss off Luongo, sure it would have been a waste of a body for the other 4 or 5 games, but it's not like there weren't other forwards on the team already taking up that job...

i think it's safe to say brown redeemed himself since then...thought he was good in the medal game.

lol, I was wondering when you were gonna get around to reading this.

I'll give Brown some credit, he picked it up a bit in the last two games. He drew two nice penalties early vs Finland that helped ice it. He plays hard 100% of the time he is out there, I'll give him credit for that. That's a lot more than can be said about that bum Kessel.

Agree with all of this. It was interesting not to hate Kesler for a couple of weeks. I know if he were a Hawk he'd be one of my favorite players hands down. Oh well, fuck him and all of Vancouver again.

I also really like Seabrook. I think it just goes to show how much better Keith makes him. Seabrook is really solid defender with a knack for timely goal scoring. However, at this point in his career, his skillset does squarely put him as the 7th/8th best Canadian defensemen. Which thankfully, is nothing to be ashamed of.

yep, my girlfriend gave me the same look. I was wondering going into the games if I was going to be able to root against Toews, Keith and Seabrook but as soon as they put on that jersey I found myself hating them just as much as I hate everyone on that team. But, once it was over I was glad that if anyone was going to do well against us at least it was Toews and Keith. I would've been alot happier fi Toews got that game winner instead of Crosby, that's for sure.

And today, at work, I have my Kane, Hossa and toews bobbleheads on my desk....I turned toews around and made him face the corner as punishment :)

Seriously, anyone but Crosby would have been great. Literally anyone. Even Staal who is a cocksucker in his own right.
