The comments under the video are an interesting read:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgSF-AQ ... e=youtu.be

I agree with the consensus of youtubers that Kronwall should be suspended for that hit. He leaps into it and leads with an elbow to the head.

re: the Kucherov was bent forward therefore he deserves to die argument seems like something the NHL would want to
get away from. A "defenseless" posture shouldn't be taken advantage of in any scenario. And as more and more taller players enter the NHL, these hits are going to become more of an issue. JJ Watt played hockey and dominated every level he played. A future JJ Watt on skates or Kronwall or any player bearing down on a guy Patrick Kane's size or whomever should not be given a free pass to demolish the smaller guy or any player in a bad position.

And Red Wings fans say that Kronwall was delivering payback for TB targeting Glendening and Datsyuk earlier in the series. So, great, both teams lose and/or end up with diminished top skaters and we get to watch a lesser game as a result. These monster Kronwall hits feel like the last vestiges of the goon era hockey of Probert / Grimson / Tony Twist et al.

At least the last five or six years of Chris Pronger's career were based on "but I'm so tall, how can I not elbow people in the head?"

Islanders getting bounced really has me bummed. That's such a fun team to watch, unlike the Rangers and Capitals.

I too was rooting for the Isles mostly because of Leddy. I hate Barry Trotz & the Caps.

Big game 7 tonight between Detroit and Tampa which features my new favorite non Hawk in the NHL, Tyler Johnson. From undrafted to superstar. Crazy as that sounds, he's not the first person to go down that path. Dan Boyle and Martin St. Louis also were undrafted stars.

Tyler has 6 goals in 6 games and pretty much won game 5 by himself. I would love to see him centering Kane for the red, white and blue in the near future.

On the flipside, Steven Stamghost has zero goals in the series.

Did you guys see the save last game by Detroit goalie (don't know how to spell his name, starts wtih M)..easily the save of the year or probably any year.

Mrazek on Stamkos in the second, right? Yeah, that was pretty impressive. Whither Jimmy Howard going forward?

It was on Boyle, but kudos to you for knowing the goalie's name.

Maybe I saw a different impressive save. I thought it was Stamkos on the power play with the Bolts up 2-0.

YOu'd know it if you saw it. There aren't two like it from that game. Its the one where he was beat and swung his paddle back and knocked the puck out of midair on the goal line.

Wings might benefit from Kronwall being out and having a player in in his place who looks to knock pucks into nets and not teeth into ice.

Jakub Kindl, I presume? He never really turned the corner like I expected.

Detroit has completly dominated Tampa Bay in this game. Tampa bay had just 12 shots on goal after 2 periods.

This really is a stupid sport sometimes.

EDIT: it was 12 after two. That makes more sense.

Yea, I missed the 1.

I hope the Habs take it to the Bolts.

Yeah, the Bolts are fun to watch, but I'd prefer to see the Habs win. I'd like to see the Hawks knock off all three Vezina finalists. Failing that, número vingt-cinq would be a treat.

Just for the sake of being accountability, I had Detroit beating Tampa. oops.

Any gays here? I hate Trotz and the Caps, but they have done a helluva job against the Rangers tonight.

Holy motherfucking shit these Calgary Flames. Got buttfucked on a goal review, tied it with 19 seconds left, won in overtime. Please beat Anaheim. I can't stand Anaheim.

Would be better for us overall if Flames win.

How the hell was Bennett's goal ruled inconclusive. That's a goal.

This is like the NFL where they somehow don't have end zone line cameras. Uhhhh, maybe professional sports leagues should have a dedicated shots for these type of boundary calls??? Duh.

The league had holes drilled into the posts to put GoPros in them, but in their infinite wisdom, failed to consider that THE GOALIES WOULD ALWAYS BE BLOCKING THEM.

Johnny Hockey, the poor man's Kaner, had his first Kane-like postseason moment last night scoring the tying goal with 30 seconds left.

I am surprised and disapointed that both the Rangers and Canadiens have played like shit in the playoffs.
I'm rooting hard for Calgary to tie up their series with Anaheim.

Habs are playing like shit while the Rangers are just unlucky. It's hard to score when the Capitals just build a wall of 5 players in front of Holtby and say "take your best shot". It's dog shit hockey but effective.
