Love killing penalties by being behind the goal line.

One guy is behind the goal line, another is falling across it, and the other two are on the other side of the ice altogether. They had a 4-on-2 shorthanded break that fell apart for Avs Reasons and turned into a 4-on-2 the other way, also apparently for Avs Reasons, and the other two penalty killers just never made it back to their own end.

Thanks  It was a bit of a rhetorical question.

This is seriously the worst team I've ever seen. It's enthralling. When you adjust for point inflation, you're going to have to put them "up" there with those first couple Capitals seasons, or when the Nordiques bottomed out in the late '80s and would go -150 or something insane on the year.

And it wasn't intentionally planned....

And Jared Bednar was supposed to be a good coach! He won the Calder Cup last year with a Cleveland team that I believe has supplied a fair bit of talent to this year's Blue Jackets. But to watch them play, you'd think they had no coach at all. He's clearly far worse than Patrick Roy, and Patrick Roy was a terrible coach.

I suppose this exact same thing happened with Dallas Eakins, where a hot AHL coach was an unmitigated disaster at the NHL level, but a lot of that was because Eakins was legitimately a crazy person who blamed his failures on free donuts in the press box. Bednar is just A Guy. A Guy whose team shits all over itself on a nightly basis.

In that pic it looks like Nate McKinnon has fallen and he can't get up....and he's the Avs best player!

Too bad they couldn't do this last year when there was actually high end talent at the top of the draft.

After their 7-0 blowout of the Hawks, the Panthers have lost three straight in regulation and been eliminated from playoff contention. Great goal distribution there.

Make that four straight for Florida. God, that game.

While we've watched the Sharks and Wild collapse, we've missed the Senators doing the same. They've only won two of their last ten, Karlsson is hurt, and they've fallen to the last playoff spot. In theory, Tampa could knock them out, but probably won't. Still, they went from stealing the division from the Habs to squeaking in. Caps-Sens could be a good series.

Watch, the big three in the Metro will destroy each other (one is guaranteed to be out in the first round and I think it'll be Pittsburgh) and the Rangers will win the East.

They have pretty much all their regular defense out. You know they are in trouble when they are hoping Trfevor Daley is maybe coming back.

Back-to-back Presidents' Trophies for the Caps. I hope they lose in the first round.

Penguins-Jackets and Canadiens-Rangers confirmed for the first round.

I'm hoping they blow it too. I want the Islanders to get the last spot.

Stars shitcan Lindy Ruff, gotta think that's the end of the line for his coaching career.

I also expect firings for:
Paul Maurice
Jared Bednar
Dave Hakstol
Willie Desjardins
Tom Rowe
John Hynes
Dan Bylsma
Jeff Blashill
Bruce Boudreau if they lose to Yeo and the Blues in the first

LA is leading the Ducks and the Oilers are up in their game. If this holds up then the Ducks drop to second in Pacific and host the Sharks while the Oil win the division and open with the Flames.

I was going to chime in with Sutter when you posted the original list, but I thought "nah, not yet". Well, that's hockey, baby!

I kept thinking Sutter would opt for free agency after last year (or was it previous, whenever his last contract expired). I imagine he won't be out of work long.

I left Sutter off as a fired coach because I thought he would quit and retire to his farm in Wherever-The-Fuck Alberta and wander around aimlessly or whatever he does there.

I think it's the end of the road for Sutter and Hitchcock. That roughneck, pure north-south hockey aged out of the league so fast it made my head spin.

I can see that, especially with Hitch. But I thought Boudreau would be done too and well.. there he is. There is part of me that just enjoys how much of an Ass Sutter is so maybe I just want to see him get another job.

I thought Hitchcock was retiring after this season. Did getting fired change everything?
