Started yesterday. Solid 6-1 opener over Latvia for the USA. Canada looked impressive in dispatching Russia 5-3. Czech vs Finland was the game of the day with Czech's Spacek (gotta be related) scoring the winner late.

Games today are pretty weak, but pick up again tomorrow.

Seems like a down year talent wise across the board, no big name stars. After the last two years with McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, Laine etc they were definitely due for down year, but as long as the tournament is competitive it will still be great.

Not sure if there are any Hawks prospects in the field, 2nd round pick DiBrincatt was the last cut despite scoring a ton of goals this year for Erie.

Big win for the US yesterday over Russia. Things are set up perfectly for Saturday's annual US vs Canada game as both teams are undefeated and looking solid.

denmark has been the surprise of the tournament with 2 wins. Finland, defending champs, are 0-3 and will be headed to the relegation playoffs.

nearly a massive fail by the US yesterday who barely escaped the quarters vs Swiss. No reason to get hung up on that though, team is still undefeated and headed towards a semi final matchup with the Russians on Wednesday.

Epic final four btw!

USA vs Russia
Sweden vs Canada

It don't get much better than that.

This Swedish team is loaded. Canucks have their hands full.

yea, it's hard for me to get a good read on the Swedes so far. For one, some of their games including yesterday's haven't been televised in the US. Secondly, they were in the far weaker group and really haven't played anyone yet as evidenced by the fact that the other 3 semi finalists all came from the other bracket.

Definitely looking forward to tomorrow's game and Sweden's first real test.

what an amazing instant classic yesterday! Troy Terry doing his best Johnny Toews impersonation in the shootout.

USA vs Canada tonight is gonna be EPIC!

That was an amazing game!

USA ran the table, never lost a game and had to beat Russia and Canada twice in a week.

This tournament lacked some of the star power of recent tournaments, but more than made up for it with some great games throughout capped off with 3 of the 4 medal round games going to shootout.

Shootouts suck. That's not a good thing.

yep, to come back from 2 goal deficits twice like that, kill off all those penalties along the way and then the intense OT and shootout, just fantastic.

Right up there with the 6-5 OT gold medal win for US vs Canada a few years back when John Carlson scored the OT winner. But, that was 4v4 OT which is a lot easier to score.

and Panarin paid Kane $500 for bet during the semifinals.

Hossa probably took one look at the Slovak team and stayed out of the betting pit.

Surprised if there wasn't some action on Canada vs Sweden semi with Toews, Keith, Seabrook, Crawford, Hammer and Kruger all international alumnus.
