Patrick Kane money for a guy who has not hit 60 points or played in the postseason yet. He has potential, but holy shit that is overpaying.

Yeah, that's awfully generous. I know the parameters for NHL contract money keep shifting year after year, but Eichel making almost as much as Patrick Kane makes is tough to reckon with. Eichel is going to be very, very good. Patrick Kane, along with Duncan Keith, has made a lot of people a lot of money just for being in the organization at the same time, and will go down as the second-best American ever to play the game.

2nd best? Kane may go down as the best. He's not even 30 yet so he still has some very productive years ahead and is playing in a time when scoring is down.

Not sure I'll ever put him ahead of Chelios, but he's already past Modano.

yeah Chelios is who he would be contending with. For now I'd put Chelios ahead, but with years left, Kane certainly has the opportunity to surpass him.
