Babcock's greatest innovation with the Red Wings was that they can't ding you for interference if everyone is doing it all the time, much like Pete Carroll and holding. It's a close call between the two but Quenneville won it all three times and Babcock only once, and that's as good a final tiebreaker as any.

In case anyone didn’t notice, the Leafs are 11-4 since firing Babcock. They have changed their style of play to match their talent, their special teams have greatly improved, the stars ice time has increased, lines and pairings have changed, and some bottom of the roster/ AHL players have been given some opportunities and run with them. It’s remarkable how much the Leafs were underachieving with Babcock.

And Marner is something else. Think he’s favorite player in the league to watch.
