Three years late, in my opinion: giving Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith to the Golden Knights to keep them from claiming Mark Pysyk is as fireable an offense as has ever been committed. He was good at spending other people's money to get free agents to play in a low-pressure environment with no state income tax, but he never managed to build anything there. I don't think the Panthers are any better off than they were ten years ago when they hired him, except that they were able to extort some corporate welfare out of Broward County a while back.

Maybe he'll come back and work with Foley here and there.

Eh, Tallon did what he always did there: throw lots of money at free agents. I just found out he traded Vincent Trocheck for Erik Haula. That's basically a homegrown second-liner for a journeyman third/fourth-liner, and within the conference at that. Dumb.

Also, let's not forget that the Panthers did that thing where they kicked Tallon upstairs and tried to put Tom Rowe in charge of everything, who promptly burned the whole thing down and got fired, at which point they put Tallon back. They're just a very poorly run organization and have been over at least four ownership groups.
