First up:

Milbury out at NBC; Babcock in:

https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/306 ... atform=amp

So, they don’t bring Milbury back due to repeated questionable comments, but bring in Mr. Sensitivity in Babcock?

Milbury's abominable stewardship of the Islanders should have disqualified him from any position of expert analysis long before anything he said about women.

Bruins too. I loved when him and Roenick would fight. Won't be the same without him and doc. No Toews is going to suck too.

It will be interesting to see what version of Babcock we get. Is he just trying to repair his reputation by making a lot of complimentary comments about teams and players or will he be honest and critical when necessary? I would love to see Babcock and Sharp have some good hockey discussions during the NBC Sports intermissions.

I was not a fan of Milbury but his comments about women not being a distraction in the bubble was completely blown out of proportion.

Surprising move, and I gotta call this a win for Columbus. Maybe it was the ghost of Teemu haunting another Finn in Winnipeg, but Laine really felt like a franchise player.

wtf is going in Nashville with their goalie situation. Rinne not starting. Had the Preds in a 3 way ML with Cavs/Sixers, thinking that since Dallas has been sidelined by Covid it'd be an easy W for Nashville. No good. the Stars lit up first Saros and then Rinne in relief.

I had just offered a trade for PLD in my keeper fantasy league when the news came out. (PLD/Myers for Necas/Coyle). He accepted and I love the landing spot for PLD. Probably play with Ehlers and get some softer D matchups. PLD is a fantastic play driver and Winnipeg now has a top 5 center depth in the league.

Overall, this is a very interesting deal. Laine/Roslovic is the more talented side of the deal but Laine becomes an RFA after this season while the Jets have an extra year of control of PLD. Center > Winger but PLD will be a #2C while Laine will be the top offensive threat for the BJs. Also, how will Laine fit with Torts? Laine isn't known to play very hard in his own end. And who are the top 2 centers now in Columbus? Domi and Texier? Yikes. In a vacuum, Columbus received more talent but the trade might end up improving Winnipeg more.

Still better ratings than the NBA

As it should. The NBA is an atrocious product right now. Why would anyone that likes competition want to watch a 130-120 pt stroke each other off fest every night? That would be like watching football 7 on 7 on a half field in a game that ends up with half the players blowing each other. Even soccer is better than the NBA right now.

I thought the Lake Tahoe setting looked fantastic. I only watched the extended highlights but the TV product looked much better than other outdoor games.

Yeah, the novelty of hockey at Wrigley Field was cool, but they insist on running the rinks across the diamond instead of along a baseline with a temporary stand. There's not the same novelty to hockey at Busch Stadium, Nats Park, or any other baseball stadium. Michigan Stadium was a great site because the sightlines made sense and it was really big. Tahoe looked neat too. I always wished the Sharks could have set it up but with fans.

This is some wild shit going on with the "Breadman", I was trying to think of a clever joke with him being a former Blackhawk and Bobby Hull, but I'll leave that to Curious Hair

Panarin has become a more and more vocal critic of Putin and this is how Putin handles supporters of Navalny. Panarin's leave of absence is more about making sure his family over there doesn't end up disappeared or dropped from a 5th floor window.

Hats off to the Rangers for this statement

No one could possibly be upset by this. Certainly not me.

It's better than the time the Thrashers signed like nine black guys to ingratiate themselves with Atlanta and then moved the next summer.

There were plenty of racist hockey fans annoyed by this.
