Plans to built a new rink for the Islanders was thoroughly rejected. Their lease expires in 2015 at Nassau which might be the worst professional venue in the country. Where do they move? Vegas? Seattle? Portland? Toronto?

I would be able to see a team in Seattle or a 2nd Toronto area team in terms of what is best for the league

I would think that Seattle would make the most sense as you get to keep hockey in 'merica, and you would have a natural rival. But Seattle wouldn't upgrade that shit stadium to keep Kevin Durant, so odds are that they wouldn't do it for DiPietro.

Well, if the NHL can return to Winnipeg where the Jets' name and colors will replace the ones with the Atlanta Thrashers, I don't see any reason why not. Before the Nordiques relocated to Denver many years ago to become the Colorado Avalanche, weren't they one of the NHL's winningest teams before they moved?
