Should be an amazing season with a bunch of intra-divisional and no cross-conference games.

Rangers @ Bruins tonight should be a doozy.

The guy singing the anthem made Jim Cornelison look talented.

Watched the first period of the Islanders vs Devils. If Crawford doesn't step up his game this season I hope the Hawks grab Nabokov at the deadline. About to check out Yotes vs Stars.

Montreal/Toronto has been a pretty good game. Montreal's pretty bad. The Leafs are taking it to them but Price is standing on his head.

Isles are going nowhere with that mishmash of a roster. Nabokov is a must. Yes, he'll choke in the playoffs, but Crawford will have a stroke in the playoffs, so take that chance.

Blues are their usual dipshit selves, even managed to agitate the Wings.

That save by Lundquist was sick.

Jagr with both goals tonight vs the Yotes. He's by far the best player on the ice tonight for the Stars. I know he's 41 years old but it still amazes me that no one wanted this guy after he proved he could still play with the Flyers last season.

Goalie controversy in Vancouver already.
I don't understand how the Hurricanes got absolutely dummied by Panthers.

Save of the year already has been sewn up by Lundqvist day one:

Weird things happen, the Panthers are decent, and the Hurricanes are awful. You get past Semin, Skinner, and the Staals, and it's just a bunch of nameless bodies. Justin Faulk! Jeremy Welsh! Patrick Dwyer! Steven Byrne! I made the last one up, but I bet you wouldn't know it unless I told you!

I do no care what anyone says he is one of the all time greats. A youth who lived up to the type. He is one of the few guys who I really enjoy working the puck/ice.
He is going to be a game changer for a few more years.

He beat the Coyotes by himself last night, it was incredible to watch. The Stars literally did nothing vs the Yotes all game but Jagr netted 2 and then set up the other 2 with nice passes.

Boston beat Winnipeg in the shootout. The Jets look kinda not good. They also have expiring contracts a-plenty: Antropov, Hainsey, Ponikarovsky, Wellwood, Chicago-area goaltending legend Al Montoya. Might be able to make a rental there if they keep playing like crap.

Isles over the Bolts 4-3. Nabokov almost coughed up a 4-0 lead in the third. Might want to hold up on Nabokov.

Senators shut out the Panthers. We may now officially hold up on the Panthers.

Look for the Brunner goal in Detroit's shootout win over Columbus.

Blues beat the Predators in the shootout. Kind of Nashville to hold them there a little longer before they come up to Chicago for our first home game tomorrow night.

Watched some Toronto/Buffalo. Toronto won't be awful this year. They have a real nice collection of forwards. Unfortunately, only Kessel and maybe Grabovksi are legit 1st line player. They should finally be a fun team to watch with a bunch of high scoring games. A little hope for the long suffering GTAers.

Nino Niederreiter requested a trade from Islander's b/c he wasn't invited to NHL camp and was shipped off to the AHL. Looks like another Kyle Turris diva. His stats from last year in the NHL:

GP: 55 | G: 1 | A: 0 | P: 1 | PIM 12 | +- -29

Tore it up there Nino!

Except Kyle Turris just sucked in a stifling defensive system and has flourished in Ottawa. Two goals last night! Guy's got skills, they just weren't maximized by Tippett.

They'll just have to win 7-6. That's Oilers hockey, baby.

Terrible night around the National. Coyotes win 5-1 with a Steve Sullivan hat trick in front of like 5,000 people, Canucks beat the Flames in the shootout, Rangers beat the Bruins in overtime. At least Toronto won.

The Rangers first goal was off of a perfectly executed breakout. Check out the highlights if you get a chance.

Coyotes got a 4-0 shutout over Nashville with a goalie who had made six career starts as a backup with the Rangers. Of course they did.

Oilers 4-1 over the Avs. Golly, this team is getting fun to watch.

B's 5-3 over the Hurricanes; there is nothing in this world that will ever get me to give a flying fuck about the Carolina Hurricanes.

What have the Carolina Hurricanes done to you CH? If the Canes were located in the Northeast people would be raving about their offseason. They have a real solid roster and will make the playoffs. Book it.

No they won't. No depth. And I find them completely vanilla and forgettable.

Oilers @ Sharks has been a real good up and down game so far. Edmonton has no defense whatsoever so it's been really fun to see the Sharks breakout. They're entering the Oiler zone with ease. On the other hand you have the Oiler with 5-6 Patrick Kanes. Their forwards are incredibley skilled but always have one eye on Niemi.

That goal this afternoon by John Carlson against the Penguins was one of the craziest ones I've ever seen.

eah it was. Also the game ended with a power play on yet another phantom penalty for touching cindy Crosby.

The Calgary Flames continued their fire sale on Monday, sending defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to St. Louis in exchange for the Blues’ first-round pick in 2013, defenseman Mark Cundari and goalie Reta Berra.

Talent wise the Blues got a OK top-4 defenseman. His name definitely precedes his talent and production.

This trade is interesting in that Blues add Bouwmeester's 6.6 million cap-hit when Petro, Shatty, Berglund and Chris Stewart all become RFAs.

Robyn Regehr came much cheaper, is cheaper, and probably would've been a much better fit the Blues. Oh well, sucks for them.
