Ryan Callahan's done for this round and the next with an appendectomy, as if anyone will notice him not being there to not do anything.

What??? I love PK.

Rangers gotta win the other series as I can think of nothing that would be worse than a Tampa vs Washington Eastern conference final. Yuk.

Everyone would love this Lightning team if their name weren't "the Tampa Bay Lightning." If they were the Milwaukee Admirals or Hartford Whalers, they'd be America's sweethearts, with all these little guys flying around scoring goals and Ben Bishop in net, the logical conclusion of years of people saying "hurr durr why don't they just get a goalie whose [sic] really really big?" They're the next Next Red Wings, a worthy successor to the Hawks. Let's beat them once before they get to that point.

I never had much opinion on PK until he broke that players wrist for no reason. No thanks.

CAPS up 1-0 after 1 on an Ovechkin goal.

My Ovechkin +500 to net 2 goals wager looking good right now.

only got +140 for the Caps on the ML, but Incarcerated Bob assures us it's a lock.

de minimis wager @ +275 for the game to go to OT.

Stevey Y's Lightning converted a lot of Red Wing fans during their 7 game first-round series. 5'9' Tyler Johnson racking up 3 two goal games. Filppula, Kuckerov.....Stamkos was shut out by the Wings but has scored 3 goals in his last 4 games.

At one point in the Wings-Lightning series, Game 5 or 6? Lightning and Wings all broke into a fight, every skater grabbing someone on the other team and hugging each other aggressively.

TB's goalie Bishop (6'7") figured he'd get in on the action, starts skating toward Wings goalkeep Mzarek (6'1") like "let's go". Mzarek does the double hand clutch on his net's cross bar behind him and starts checking out the crowd scene, like, "naw, man, i'm good."

Capitals are way more fun to cheer for than the Rangers.

Looking forward to a Caps-Lightning series. I think Lighnting win easily and Lightning are probably going to take the Cup. Way too much offensive firepower for either Blackhawk or Anaheim goalie to keep out of the net enough for the Hawks or Anaheim to win a 7 game series.

I don't think the Bolts beat the Caps that easily. The Isles are built similarly (with much crappier goaltending, admittedly) and they went down in seven. I could see the Caps winning the series, but it would have to go the distance, because Tampa is going to light HOLTBEAST up like a Christmas tree at least twice.

I also think the Caps would be a tougher match for the Hawks than the Lightning would. The Hawks have lost four in a row to them over the last two years, all in regulation, I believe. They've fared marginally better against Tampa, but of course using interconference regular season games is misleading because of the small sample size and the Hawks' inability to give a fuck for three months a year.

I enjoy neither, but find the Rangers aggressively uncompelling.

+275 OT wager comes in and at least insures an even outcome.

now if Caps can win and Ovi net the game-winner.

Lundqvist going 105/110 to win the series will do that, I guess. I'll never not think Holtby is mad overrated.

damn, felt bad for Ovie. Wanted to see him advance after his guarantee and scoring the first goal of the game. Also wanted to see my old high school defense partner, Todd Reirdon, keep going. He runs the defense for the Capitals.

I don't feel bad for him but rather would've have seen the Caps in because of you know, fuck New York.

The Hawks would have had home ice against Washington. Won't get that against the President's Trophy winner, but I've never found Madison Square Garden to be anything special as far as hockey goes. Islanders crowds are far more imposing when they can be arsed to show up.

I wanted the Caps to win, but they beat us handily in both games this year, and I was not looking forward to more cunty chirping from Troy Brouwer.

Who should Blackhawk fans be cheering for in the Tampa/Rangers series?

Seems to be real clash of completely differing styles. The defense and good goaltending of the Rangers vs. the star power and offense of Tampa...

I like our chances against either, but I would get more enjoyment out of sticking it to lazy fat fuck Rick Nash and whiny bitch Marty Sehloueeeee.

See now this worries me.

You are supposed to tell us all how it does not matter the Hawks cannot hang with either team...

I don't know. This is starting to remind me of 2010, where our biggest challenge came in the first round -- Nashville both times, as it happens.

I was shocked to see that the Rangers and Bolts played today. It is a fucking joke that the thought of a Bulls game or a fucking Kanye concert has the Hawks off for 10 days and the Ducks since what..6 or 7 days?? These 2 should have played the night after the ECF were decided. How the hell am I supposed to recognize them with 10 days growth on their beards. Good thing they wear numbers.

Tyler Johnson rang up 2+ point/goal games every other game against the Red Wings.

After laying off the weekend games --well, I cashed out my winnings from Bovada at the end of last week and then had all manner of trouble getting them to let me make a deposit again over the weekend/until today--thank you, crappy overseas shady-but-not-that-shady online bookmaker! I'd prolly have wagered on the Lighting's ML Saturday, like I did tonight.

And then I went all in on Tyler Johnson:

Lightning ML and the last 2 Tyler Johnson props currently sit as potential winners, but the Tyler Johnson more points than vs M St Louis and St Louis is sitting on 2 points (assists) to 3 points (goals) for TJ.

Chris Kreider at +900 to net 2 goals (or 2 points?) was a tempting wager, St Louis keeps him well-fed.

Course, Rangers get only 1 more goal and that erases the TJ scores the "winning" goal wager.

would need the Rangers to score 2 more and than Johnson to get a 4th goal to win it then.

5-2 Lightning now, 7 minutes into the 3rd.

Alain should rest Mt St Louis and instruct the rest of the team to avoid scoring any more goals, save em for the next game.
