BOXING DAY MOTHERFUCKERS

Clint Dempsey, the real American hero, gets Fulham a late draw against Chelsea.

Liverpool playing Wheaton Rovers right now. I'm expecting another 0-0 draw. Can't find a reliable stream of the match online yet.

Suarez banned again. This time it is only one game (tomorrow against Newcastle). Haven't read much about potential transfer targets for LFC.

Spurs continue to impress. The Welsh Pele, Gareth Bale, is being slobbered over by the British press.

Man City tied with United now at the top of the table.

i guess Chelsea has fired he first January transfer window salvo by agreeing with Bolton on $10.8 million dollar deal (7 million pounds) for Gary Cahill...Terms still have to be agreeed to. Looks like Cahill will be taking Alex's place, who has been tranfer-listed.

Chelsea might also be in the market for a right-back, midfielder and a striker...Midfielder and striker make sense since Essien is injured (again) and Mikel will be leaving for the African Cup of Nations...Drogba and Kalou will also be gone as well. Chelsea will also need a replacement for Nickolas Anelka, who is headed to China to play.

In former Chelsea manager news, I guess DonCarlo Ancelotti could be taking over as the new boss at PSG....Looks like he could be David Beckham's manager. Rumor has it Ancelotti may come back to Chelsea to take Florent Malouda back to France wih him since Malouda cant seem to find his way onto the pitch for Andre Vilas-Boas.

EDIT: ESPNSoccernet.com comfirms that Ancelotti has been hired to take over as the new coach at Paris St. Germain.

Nice to have Stevie Wonder back.

Bellamy is a lot like Cris Carter, all he does is score goals!

He also reminds me a lot of Maradonna and Gerd Meuller, built like a fire hydrant, but can put it in the back of the ol' onion bag.

Oh. and Andy Carroll is still a tall pile of feces.

Great win Don. Now, if Spurs, Chelsea, and Arse could drop points we'd be in a Champions League spot. Bellamy's return to Anfield has been quite a surprise.

Historic win for Rovers Zach!

Unfortunately it probably means more time for Kean.

Happy New Year to all fans of the "Beautiful Game".

Wheaton Rovers are enjoying a renaissance. Draw at Anfield and a win at OT.

BTW start that Villas Boas sack watch again after that abysmal result against Villa.

Is it any coincidence that Chelsea has gone into the toliet the last two years after John Terry has been involved in some kind of controversy...Last season it was the affiar with Wayne Bridge's woman and now the race allegations...I have a hard time believing that this hasnt affected him on the pitch.

It seems to me when there is a defensive breakdown and the opponet scores a goal...Terry seems to be involved in the breakdown somehow...If the season is going down the toliet...I think it is time that Chelsea look to see what they can get for Terry...I was reading in the Express that a couple of teams in China are interested in getting Terry in a loan deal or a transfer...I dont think Chelsea should totally dismiss the idea.

If Villas-Boas is the guy to manage the club in the future....Chelsea need to tear it down and start over and get younger and not worry about qualifying for the Champions League.

They've already got rid of Anelka and are in the process of doing the same with Alex (not sure why when the back four is a weakness)...Maybe it's time for Chelsea to see what they can get for Terry, Lampard, Boswinga and Cole.

Terry's getting old but the guy is still a club legend. Him and Lampard will be difficult to part with from a PR perspective. Those guys have been your spine the last 10 years. Maybe one could compare Terry to Carragher at Liverpool. Carra has been phased out by his lackluster play the last couple seasons and his ever mounting collection of own goals. Both guys are legends at their clubs. In Carra's case, LFC had guys in place to replace him (Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Johnson, and now Coates). You mentioned Chelsea's lack of depth at CB. Where are the guys to move in to Terry's place? Ivanovic? David Luiz? Neither are real solid physical CBs. Many internet soccer forum types (probably Chelsea haters) think Terry is average and his reputation is because of the London media fawning over him the last 10 years. He's no Vidic or Kompany and maybe not even a Ledley King but he's still good.

Henry back to Arsenal on loan. I'm sure Larry Holmes is excited about his Gunners' chances now. Beckham likely to stay at the LA Galaxies for another year. Landon Donovan back on loan to Everton. Harry Redknapp going in to full wheeler dealer mode, fielding press conferences from his rolled down car window. Mancini thinks City need to spend big (again? lawl) to put distance between them and United. Liverpool is taking a beating over the Suarez fiasco from a PR perspective. LFC fans adopt usual victim mentality and think entire universe is out to get them.

Cool, then he can have even more great players to not play during important matches.

Liverpool beat City 1-0 in the WhoGivesAFuck Cup today at the Etihad. City didn't have Kompany or Silva. Possible Carling Final between Liverpool and Palace! My nipples are hard just imagining the trash talk KD and myself will engage in.

Or Yaya Toure, arguably their most important player. Basically without Toure, Kompany and Silva they were missing the entire spine of their team. And the only reason they lost is because of a ridiculous dive in the box by a liverpool scumbag.

Paul Scholes gets a goal in his second match back from retirement. I wonder if Fergie had to beg him to come back and help out due to all the injuries and suckness of the midfield.

Liverpool involved in another 0-0 draw. Europa League here we come.

The Swans stun Arsenal!

Wheaton Rovers out of the relegation zone! :thumleft:

The Fire released their 2012 schedule! :|

Lots of things happened this weekend:

Liverpool imploded (again) and Dalglish went on a rant about the squad and their effort. I'm hoping he quits so they can get a real manager and not some golden figurehead with impunity.

The Manchesters got big wins in big games. Larry of Homewood's Arsenal's game was on Fox this morning in wondrous HD.

Clint Dempsey got a hat trick! First American ever to do so in the EPL.

The heart was pounding today when the Scouse in the Kop starting singing Fields of Athenry during stoppage time.

I thought I was watching Ireland pound England at the Aviva ala last March.

Zizou,

I totally agree with you,

but,

there are 4 pieces of hardware max that an EPL team can win. We are still in position for 2 of them.

That being said, they have to push hard in the second half to make them eligible for all4 next year.

OMFG Carroll fucking scored! And on the last day of the transfer window with rumors of him going to City for a loan swap with Tevez (which I never believed for a second).

Team scored 3 goals! 4 points behind the Chelsea.

Arsenal put the beatdown upon Wheaton Rovers today. Van Persie grabbed a hat trick. Liverpool-Spurs on Monday from Anfield. Tomorrow, pre-Super Bowl, in wondrous HD on Fox is Manchester United-Chelsea. And it's not tape delay! 9:30AM. Do it.
