No way. That handball had zero effect on the play. They essentially gave France a free goal because of an unlucky spin of the ball for Croatia.

Agree with FF. Accidental handball being a penalty drives me nuts.

This is the #MeToo era. You can't just place your hands anywhere.

Knowing how to comport oneself in the penalty box is pretty basic. He got sloppy and it cost him.

I’d argue the penalty that led to the first goal was a bigger problem but the French guy sure sold it. I don’t like the penalty kick format but it is what it is and these guys know it. Keep your arms closer to your body in the box and you remove the possibility of getting that called.

France wins. But I wouldn't be surprised if Croatia came back and tied it.
