i'd go that way too. i believe that the usa would need to play at a higher tempo to exploit the slow and cumbersome mcguire and stones, but playing up-tempo against a side with quality is suicidal. a no-win here. usa needs to play for the result here, 0-0, even lose 0-1 or 0-2 and then take care of business against iran. how tactically aware are the usa? we'll see.

iran makes every world cup and have usually embarrassed themselves, but over time, when you get basically a free invite against the best in the world - you'll eventually get dividends. today's dividend was a weak wales. hennessey was fantastic until his moment that gifted iran the match. +600 for iran's win against the infidels and now the bankroll is at $3.4k.

weak wales also underlines just how the poor the usa was in the 2nd half against wales. the plodding iranians needed hennessey to make saves and hit the post a few times while the usa did nothing against wales in that 2nd half.

i played the dutch to win and if i win that, will likely avoid playing england later today.

Ramsey and Bale are done. Barely noticed Bale was playing most of the time. Berhalter is a poor manager. If the US federation were smart, they should pay a big time international manager for 2026. England 3 US 0. Only the blundering backline of England can give the US hope.

Best case scenario: the US scores first and England gets tight because that's what they do on the international level.

I just watched the first half of this US v. England game. My lord is this sport boring. They cut to halftime and the announcer says "after an exciting first half". I guess I'm missing something.

I am not a big soccer guy, but I do watch occasionally. There is definitely an element of that was a boring half. But on the other side it is exciting from the stand point of tension of one mess up and things can change at any moment.

England def appears to be reeling a bit from being the favorites and missing out on a few opportunities in the first half. The game is there for the USA if they can just take advantage.

It’s on at the bar. Soccer sucks. God I love baseball so I can handle boring. But this sport is a taffy pull with no purpose.

Good point on the tension. It got a little exciting as time was winding down. But in the end nobody scored.

I am pretty clueless here, but yeah, it got a little tense there for a while.

So if we beat Iran, we move on?

I missed the first half but was able to watch the second half. I thought their best chance was when the American goalie Turner decided to dribble all the way out of the box and caught the pressing English team off guard. It was like Matt Ryan running a planned bootleg. Unfortunately the English midfielders made a solid defensive play or else the American forwards would have had numbers.

Pleasantly surprised by the result. I thought the US speed of play caught England off guard. Zimmerman was almost the goat again. His passing is awful. Shaq Moore is bad.

Seemed like England played not to lose knowing a draw would get them through.

Mckinney had the only real shot at a goal early on and spanked it.

no doubt, a very good result. if you told the usa that they'd make the knock-out rounds if all they had to do was defeat iran, they'd have taken it in a heartbeat. i didn't bet the match and i only saw bits and pieces of the last 20 mins or so. you're right, i immediately thought the same thing - this guy killed the usa with his dumb challenge on bale and now his poor giveaway.....

bankroll at $3k, leaning with france at -140, more so with argentina at -185. love the aussie fight, just not good enough in my estimation. i'd play tunisia, but, i'm staying away. can denmark get 3 consecutive wins against france?

$500 on argentina at -185.

That Poland GK double save on the PK might be the save of the tournament. Started leaning the wrong way came back saved the first one and then got his fingertips on the second one to push it over the goal. Ridiculous.
