I think the better investment is NED still at +1400. They were in the final last time.

I don't want anyone to complain about me not doing my part to support women's sports. I watched some of a replay of an opening round game that I knew ended in a tie.

Doesn't much matter if women don't support women's sports

Playing women’s sports at 2am is a true test of how hard one wants to virtue signal.

There are roughly 50 US born players representing other countries in this World Cup. Philippines has 18 and Jamaica has 11 to lead the way.

are they singing the philippines/jaimaca national anthems? still not sure what part of the usa's team beef is. money? racism? free health care for illegals? cops to stop seducing 15 year old girls from el salvador? i'm waiting for carli lloyd to be repackaged as a karen.

i'm sure she has been already put in that category by some. but i like the criticism. it's completely justified. alexei has been critical of the USMNT. she can be critical of the WNT. especially since it's deserved.

i can see sweden beating them in the R16. good luck with all that, alex.

i agree, criticism is justifiable...and yes, she's already in that category.

dave zirin, sports editor of 'the nation', disagrees with her criticism.

It was a bizarre and personal criticism.

mr. zirin was elated that rapinoe's kneeling, eventually won out over lloyd's stand and sing...when both were teammates. no surprise that he finds lloyd's criticism bizarre and personal. mr. zirin also calls the criticism, political. a different world we live in today, where many believe the means; especially extreme means - justify their morally and ethically superior end. others watch that or hear about that, and come up with new ways to disrespect the anthem to express solidarity with the ends.

He's inadvertently touching on what I find so distasteful about the U.S. women's soccer team. It seems that most of them don't see themselves as athletes representing the USA, but rather as political actors who are using athletics as a platform to promote particular ideologies. In doing so, they are representing only half of the country.

I have no idea what Mike Eruzione thought about oil prices or the Camp David Accords and I wouldn't even hazard a guess at who Jack O'Callahan voted for. I just know they kicked Russian ass and I was happy about it.

This seems like one of the worst performances in the history of team sports (from a team with expectations).

I’m trying to find a comp from a sport people actually care about.

You said a sport people care about. Despite that, I give you the 92/93 Blackhawks.

That’s a pretty good one.

Now imagine that the prior year’s team had won the Stanley Cup, complained about unfair pay and negotiated a split of the Bulls’ earnings.

This year's Bruins

I'd add every big ten team that makes the football playoffs except, I don't think they would count as a team with expectations.

I think the Hawks was much worse. They had pretty strong teams but were up against the monsters that were the Oilers. The Hawks had lots of great players in that time period and had not won a Championship in forever. Then they get swept in the first round by a rival. Very painful for Hawks fans.

For me personally it was the 2010 Saints.

But Carli Lloyd, how dare you.

the SJWs played a tournament in a nation that automatically detains (i guess the american press would call it 'cages') any illegal immigrant caught inside or caught illegally entering the nation. ok. their beef is with the usa. rapinoe's favorite word is defiance. got it.

i see rodman's daughter can't be bothered with holding her hand over her heart, let alone sing, the national anthem. i can't imagine the irreversible damage this nation has done to her dad and mom.

team sport...divisiveness may have split the team. the sub-par performance wasn't due to lack of skill - compared to the competition.

I think it was being subsidized by the men that ruined this team.

They needed the type of anger that only comes from cold, hard economic realities.

The woke lesbian atheist missed the last penalty shot of her career. The married Christian girl Mallory Swanson would have made that penalty!

It's time for the Moral Majority to take back women's soccer to make America great again. Let the woke lesbian atheists play basketball.

I’ve decided to try to tune into the women’s world cup and the USWNT and give it the attention it deserves this year. When does it start?

I don't know what they paid for it, but FOX has to be pissed. I wonder what kind of ratings a Spain vs. England finals will delver?
