Found this on http://www.awfulannouncing.com...USA v England friendly from 1994...The Three Lions defeated the Stars and Stripes 2-nil on two Alan Scherer goals...Not sure who the analyst is but the play-by-play voice is Ian Darke. Who would have thought almost 20 years later. Darke would be the lead soccer voice on the Booyeah Network.

yeah, ian is definitely the goods. there were a handful of saturday mornings last season where i'd catch some EPL, but this season i made a concerted effort to watch it, all the way down to being able to watch every match.... and those early 6:30am affairs with ian and macca became beloved for me... that's the one thing i'll miss going into the NBC sports era next year.

does ESPN have the world cup next year? if so i reckon we'll hear plenty of him.... i mean, shit, fox is trying to push the FA cup final and CL finals on mainstream fox and they're trotting out gus johnson as their main PBP guy and suffice to say, my speakers still haven't recovered.

I do believe the Booyeah's have next year's World Cup so we will get more of Ian Darke and hopefully my favorite announcer Martin Tyler.

With the soccer season coming to a halt. Here is a question to throw out for discussion.

Who are your favorite soccer announcers. Darke is starting to become one of mine. I already mentioned Tyler. I also like John Champion. Any others. Thoughts from the class.
