Just got back from Orlando today and I can tell you they are very excited about the possibility. The news led with "A New Major Sports Team To Call Orlando Home." I went through it in my head -- NBA is already there, NHL seems unlikely to expand or relocate to FL, NFL -- well maybe Jacksonville is relocating to Orlando?, MLB - enough Spring Traning an hour away... makes no sense. So I didn't really know what was going on and there was a Seinfeld rerun on a different channel so I failed to watch to the end. Then I saw this press conference for Orlando City FC. Well God bless these people is about all I can say. UCF Football will be a bigger draw (and has more advertising) but if Brian Bauer can put butts in the seats here, I see no reason why he can't duplicate it there* *Brian Bauer not affiliated with Orlando soccer. |
