According to the Chicago Tribune, former San Jose Earthquakes manager Frank Yallop could be named the Chicago Fire's new manager as early as today.

The story also said that two former Fire players, Jesse Marsch and C.J. Brown could also be considered to replace the ousted Frank Klopas.

Marsch is the former manager of the Montreal Impact while Brown is an assistant at Real Salt Lake, who are in the MLS play-offs.

Yallop met the media today. I'm sure it wasn't a huge media presence at Toyota Park but there is video

Ten years ago this would have been a good hire. This is like the Cowboys and Dolphins hiring Parcells. I do like that Yallop is the sole decision maker on who the players are. Still, isn't this like the 3rd or 4th manager in the last five years?

Yallop is the third head coach for the Fire since Denis Hamlett was let go prior to the 2010 season. Carlos de los Cobos and Frank Klopas held the Head Coach title.

Take it a step further, since Dave Sarachan was let go during the 2007 season which was his fifth in charge. The Fire have had five head coaches in that time (Juan Carlos Osorio, Hamlett, de los Cobos, Klopas and Yallop.)
