Some stunners in qualifying so far:

Poland over Germany
Ireland draw with Germany
Iceland over Holland
Northern Ireland over everybody
Drone over Serbia

Yeah, that stoppage time goal Ireland put in against Germany today was awesome.
Pretty exciting.

Serbia and Albania had some fun crowd fights.

Watching the Clash of Celts on FS2 right now. It's your typically dour Ireland-Scotland match. Plodding and full of donkey-ball tactics. Germany and Gibraltar is next. Revenge for Das Boot?

I think it's cool how Northern Ireland and Gibraltar and all those get their own teams. Doe the Isle of Man field a team? We should all pitch in and get one for Terry when he retires.

I know the Isle of Man has a team from talking to my cousin who is from there. I believe even the Vatican City State field a squad. However, the team has to be a member of UEFA and/or FIFA to participate in these tournaments. Pot 6 in the qualifying has many of the tiniest "minnows" in international soccer: Faroe Islands, Malta, Andorra, Gibraltar, San Marino. They are cannon fodder for the big boys. Some, like San Marino, haven't even scored a goal in any of the qualification matches yet. Gibraltar has 1 goal and has conceded 27 in 5 matches.

Not many people on hand for the Germany/Gibraltar match.

So, The Fall of the House of Oranje. Can't even qualify in this watered-down, everyone-gets-a-trophy version of the Euros. Albania, Iceland, Northern Ireland, and Wales all made it. Ireland (the regular one) is in the playoffs. Austria's run surprised me the most. 9 wins and 1 draw in 10 qualifying matches.

you know that LvG has gotta love it that once he left it all went to shit. i mean seriously, finals of 2010 WC, like 3rd/4th/whatever in 2014 WC, and out of euro 2016? that's right up his alley. he is a great man who needs to be praised!

LVG. I'm sure he is laughing his arse off. Sounds like Ronald Koeman is next man up for the Netherlands.
