Great pick. Though it has been said that he has a bad habit of dropping his head on contact (which provides defenders an easy swim move over the top). I too did that as a young center and used to get the shit knocked out of me.

I'm shocked Mannion went before Petty and Hundley and this high.

He would have been worth trading up for. Probably would have only needed a present or future 5th or so.

Stone hands. But could be a nice return guy.

Over drafted here.

He's got a horrible arm.

Certainly far below Petty and Hundley for arm strength.

Looking over the picks team by team, I am not sure there is a team that has done any better than the Bears so far

Yeah, almost a textbook how-to draft for the Bears front-office so far.

Hoped they'd trade Bennett and grab either a LB or defensive back in the 2nd/3rd round in addition to the DL/Center.

--Cuz I don't expect Bennett to be a Bear week 1.

Heck, if they could've traded Bennett for another 3rd round pick + another late round pick, Jaelen Strong was on the board forever.

Seems fairly straightforward to draft with some matrix off "what do we need" + "best players on the board" thought process.

No idea what previous Bear front-offices were thinking. Saw a couple charts recently. One was "number of players on roster drafted by the team" and the other was draft picks still on roster by round.

Bears were the worst at drafting 1st round picks that stuck. And close to the bottom in number of players on their roster their front office had drafted.

Course, Patriots/Packers/Steelers et al were near the top.

I'll have to find those.

Wonder if Drew Brees agrees.

3rd round pick that does nothing to help Brees win in the next 2 years, is it? that he has left.

Rams, Vikes, Dolphins & Jets did well too. Wouldn't be surprising if the Rams won 11 or 12 games next year. Great off-season. Same with the Dolphins.

Rams draft well and then somehow the players under-achieve.

I like what the Falcons and Ravens have done.

Cincy had 2 very good picks and 2 pretty horrible ones.

Saints are the winner so far.

Saints got my guy Hau'oli Kikaha. I think he's going to wreak some havoc from day one. Yeah the Rams do seem to be loaded with puzzle pieces that don't fit but if they can come out strong and build some confidence, they could be tough. I like Foles as a stabilizing force.

Oh yeah I see you were all over him from way back. So the poor guy was a 2nd round pick pre-combine, runs a 4.6 and drops like a rock. He was probably the top play-making DB in the SEC the last two years, a bargain in the 4th round.

I have no doubt that if Jerry jones picked him, Gregory was a guy you didn't want

i like that they actually went after a possible legit successor for brees finally. he's at the end of his career anyway. i just hope he develops. i love that they loaded up on defensive players. they need to give the veterans a run. they were bloated lazy piles of shit last year.

In truth, I don't think Grayson will be better than average and there are rumors of off the field issues.

But the Saints had to take him. So I don't fault them for it.

Perryman is the pick I like the most. He's the high floor guy who you can pencil in for the next 5 years.

I don't like Kendrick anymore as I've read he's got an extensive injury history. The Packers training staff is piss poor. Not a good fit. I hate the Jones pick. If you take a look at the Packers secondary they've shown a distinct strength in ID-ing and developing mid-round to FA into starters.

Ultimately, I'm banking on a team in the 2nd desperate to get another premium talent calling the Packers for their pick.

I like Perryman also, but I think you can trade back to early round 2 and still get him.
This. He'd be a solid 2nd rounder but a stretch in 1st. It sounds like he'd be primarily a run specialist but I like what I've heard about his toughness - an attribute the Packers have lacked the last several years.

I also wouldn't mind see them taking a late round flyer on a speedy kick return specialist such as J.J. Nelson, or even a mid-rounder such as Tyler Lockett (he fits TT's profile for a 4th receiver as well).
Well they got the kick returner I wanted but he'd better be pretty damn good to take in the 3rd round.
Overall I'm not pleased with the Packers draft thus far. They absolutely need an ILB. Now if they are waiting to pick up another teams salary cap cast-off and succeed in that then I'll revise my opinion. I also do think that LB in general is the easiest position to fill, but given that they really didn't have that many holes to fill I would have preferred to see TT go all in for one of the top guys via trading up rather than hoping to hit on a mid-round guy. They need quality more than quantity at this point but TT shows he is stubborn in how he values the young and cheap.

Titans looking to deal the first pick this round. Seahawks rumored to be favorites to grab it.

Best hair in the draft so far?
