I got 2 regular, 1 coffee, 1 barleywine, and 1 proprietors from the Binny's in Naperville at 9:00. Fresh Thyme opened at 7:00. I was able to score 1 regular there.

I have to go back because I cannot recall the brand name. A bar around here had some sort of Kentucky bourbon barrel beer that was 10%.

Chus, will Binny's sell out right away? I may run over there later....I love all things Bourbon Barrel. Very Mad Cow is great. Too bad it's only made in February.

Yes, they are probably gone as I type this. You should be able to find some BCBS on random shelves in the next few weeks. It is unlikely that you will find a coffee, barelywine, or proprietors.

Stop at smaller liquor stores (Sav-Way, Malloy's, Cardinals, etc.)

Thanks for the reminder. Picked up 4 regulars at Binny's just now. They were out of the variances but we're good with the reg's.

UMN, that was it but it was on draft. I would not say it was shit. I could be wrong on the ABV though. It may well have been close to 13?

I had the option to buy a 2015 BCBS Rare, but it isn't worth $70 to me. One of da Jewels was selling them for $130.

We got there at 5:00. There were 20 or 25 people already in line.

This year's prop has cocoa nibs, chipotle peppers, and was aged in barrels that once contained maple syrup.

You might be able to find a barleywine.

I just scored two regulars, and two barleywines.

Agreed, my friend. I like booze, but I'm not a beer aficionado. I can appreciate that it is a hobby for MANY, though, and I can see why it would be interesting.

Mike, we need to drink sometime. When you back in the ILL?

Beers like these aren't sitting on shelves. I wait a few hours one day every year, and I have a huge stash of barrel aged beers that are aging in my basement.

The wait today went by quickly. I was chillin with a couple friends. I brought a thermos full of warm apple cider and my flask. My guy bought bagels at the grocery store next door, so we got our grub on too. It was all good.

In Quincy for a wedding. They have a 1case per person limit down here. As of 9 last night they still had a dozen cases sitting around.

Soon. Trying for after Christmas but definitely spring or early summer.
